It was the day of graduation. All of the families were together and they were collectively hosting a graduation party for all the graduates.
Zac had been ripping and running with Fatima's father since the graduation ceremony ended. Today was the day Zac had to pick up the ring he customized for Fatima. He had been planning and perfecting the ring every chance he could. He had gotten Fatima's father approval before in previous conversations and told him that he was serious when it came to Fatima.
Thankfully for Zac, a few weeks back he got a major contracting deal with a company who offered him a pretty penny. He been on a high since and Fatima was just a happy and proud of him.
They had been discussing moving in together but there was some hesitation. Mainly on Fatima's end, she was concerned about her after college path. She knew her career wouldn't be quick to take off and she didn't want to have Zac taking care of her. Of course Zac reassured her that he would provide in anyway that she was comfortable with.
Zac was still working out the contract with the company who offered him a deal and with that, he had been working on extra surprise for Fatima.
"For everybody to have graduated, ain't none of the graduates here" Fatima's mother joked
"Everyone went home to change, it's going to be a long night" Andi's mother said
"It surely is" Fatima's father says walking in from the back yard.
"Is it happening?" Her mother asked grinning
"That boy is making it happen. She might pass out" her father says
"Did you see the ring?" She ask as she took more plates out of the bag. The house was decorated by professionals and they hired a bartender.
"I sure did and that boy spent some money on it. Whew" Her father says
"Where is he?" She asked
"He was in the car on the phone. He said he had to go pick up Fatima and they would be on their way back" he explained
"Are we late?" Danni's mother and father says walking through the house with multiple gift bags
"Nope none of the kids are here yet. I told them 4pm. We still got some time" Fatima's mother explained and then caught off guard by Amani's cry.
"Oh damn I forgot I had him" Andi's mother says jogging out the kitchen
"I got him!" Zac's dad said while he picked him up and fixed his pacifier in his mouth
"God damn I still can't believe I'm somebody glammom" Andi's mother said
"Somebodies what?" Danni's mother asked laughing
"Glammom, nobody is going to age me okay. I'm too damn young for somebody to call me grand anything" Andi's mother expressed and they laughed
"Somebody has to do it" Fatima's mother commented
"Oh you be quiet because you're next, I bet you that" Andi's mother said with confidence
"My stomach is touching my back!" Danni says walking in the house with Preston behind her
"There's two graduates!" Fatima's mother shouted in excitement.Preston's graduation was yesterday and the timing was perfect because Danni wanted to be able to support him at his graduation.
Danni went around giving hugs and immediately flew to the food.
Eventually everyone made it to the party and the energy was going. The only person that was missing was Zac, who had stepped out of the backyard to take another call.
