Several weeks had passed, and Carrie found herself immersed in her new job as a secretary at Nelson & Murdock. The semi-busy law firm had become her second home, and she had grown close to her colleagues, Foggy and Karen.

Foggy, whose real name turned out to be Franklin, had shared with Carrie the peculiar story of his mother's desire for him to become a butcher. It was an unexpected profession for someone like Foggy, but Carrie found it endearing nonetheless. Karen, on the other hand, had a darker past. She used to work as a secretary for the chief accountant of Union Allied Construction until a horrifying incident occurred.

One fateful night, one of Karen's colleagues was found dead in her apartment, with Karen herself covered in blood. Despite her pleas of innocence, she was arrested and taken to prison. It was there that she encountered Foggy and Matt, who had been informed of her case. The two men introduced themselves and expressed their desire to help her. Karen couldn't help but feel suspicious of their intentions, but they assured her that they were genuine.

To her surprise, Foggy and Matt revealed that they had only recently established their own law firm, operating for a mere seven hours. Karen would be their first client, and they were determined to clear her name. With their unwavering support, Karen's innocence was proven, and she was freed from the confines of prison.

Grateful for their assistance, Karen decided to join Nelson & Murdock as their office manager. The trio formed an unbreakable bond, united by their shared experiences and the desire to seek justice for those who had been wronged. Together, they would navigate the treacherous waters of the legal world, fighting for truth and righteousness.

As the days turned into weeks, Carrie couldn't help but feel a sense of relief. No longer did she have to worry about mysterious packages or threatening messages from Charlie. Instead, she found solace in her newfound family at Nelson & Murdock, knowing that they would always have each other's backs. In addition, Carrie found herself spending more time with Matt. She was drawn to him, and his mysterious ways intrigued her. She couldn't help but wonder what he did when he wasn't at the office. But for now, she was content to just enjoy his company and the excitement that came with working at Nelson & Murdock.

As Carrie worked alongside Matt, her curiosity about his condition grew stronger. She couldn't shake the image of him fighting off a man until his hand was covered in blood, all while saving her from danger. Despite his blindness, he seemed to have a sixth sense about her safety.

Carrie couldn't resist asking a personal question. "Can I ask you something?" she inquired.

Matt diverted his attention from the pile of paperwork in front of him, turning his gaze towards Carrie. His crimson spectacles emitted an intense glare as he responded, "I haven't always been blind."

Carrie couldn't help but assume that this question had been posed to him countless times before. "I suppose you've been asked that question a lot," she remarked.

Matt nonchalantly shrugged his shoulders, his expression betraying a hint of amusement. "That, and how do you comb your hair?" he revealed.

Carrie tilted her head slightly. "And how do you comb your hair?" she inquired.

A beautiful grin spread across Matt's face as he chuckled. "With my hands," he confessed, prompting laughter from both Carrie and himself. "But honestly, you just have to hope for the best."

Carrie took a deep breath before asking again, "How did you become blind?"

Matt's expression softened as he thought back to the accident that had taken his sight. "I was hit by a truck when I was a kid," he explained. "It's been a long road, but I've learned to adapt."
