*A Broken Mind*

The breeze was cold, her definition of a perfect weather. She did not want to go home, home to strict parents, annoying neighbors and a flirtatious worker. She stood up, she just had to go home. The wind slapped her face and her dried tears were imprinted into her face.  She strolled down the streets ignoring all the voices. When she got closer to home she stared at the sky for a while and then another tear dropped but she quickly wiped this one and entered her house without knowing that seeing her tears had hurt someone alot.

Ree's pov

"I told you she'd be back soon" I heard my mom say as she walked into the living room, she'd been crying again, I saw her wipe her red puffy eyes. That monster hit her again, but I didn't feel as much pity as I used to.

I walked passed her to get to my room but the monster blocked my path.

I could barely hear what he was saying, all I knew was his mouth reeked of alcohol and it 'icked' me.

"where have you been you ungrateful offspring" he shouted. I turned my face away because of the smell.

"answer me" he yelled again and now my head made a 360°. He slapped me.

"you've gone to see them boys again huh, you've been getting it and now you don't Answer when your father speaks huh. What's his name, I'll beat both of you up" he said as he slapped me again.

I didn't feel the pain though. I wondered what made him drink alcohol, he was normally so strict with the alcohol, but I don't care.

When he was done hitting and cursing at me I went to my room.

I locked the door and that's when the pain came and 2 drops of tears ran down my cheeks and I sighed.

But then I felt a presence in the room and I felt extremely uncomfortable. I couldn't even ask if anyone was in the room

This wasn't like the movies and there's no Casper the friendly ghost. If this entity was aware that I can feel it's presence it would probably kill me so I just decided to act normal and  unbothered

"are you scared" something whispered into my ears and the coldest chill ever ran down my spines

The atmosphere in the room changed drastically like a thunderstorm was coming and THIS was not the perfect weather

Everywhere got a bit darker and the presence became stronger

"why don't you breathe" it said again.

I didn't even realize I was holding my breath but now I don't want to breathe any more. What if it was one of those blockbuster monsters that kill you by capturing your breath.

But my stupid body betrayed me and I just had to breathe, but I immediately held my breath again.

"don't you want to know who I am" the voice said again. I felt like crying but I do not cry more than twice

"I am your guardian, like a conscience" I stared at it before closing my eyes because I couldn't hold my breath much longer

" you are destined for greatness, so much power enclosed in such a slim curvy body like yours"

It triggered me and that's when I messed up

"are you hitting on me in my own room" I said with the fierceness that disappeared as quickly as it came

The atmosphere changed again and I immediately started begging

"I'm so sorry, I am truly sorry please don't kill me"

The temperature kept dropping until he said to me with the coldest voice ever

"I don't like how he hit you" I could swear that his anger became tangible because the tension it came with strangled me
