Prologue

King Rhoam and Queen Zelda had left their meeting with the leader of the Sheikah devastated; signs of the calamity had been appearing all across Hyrule, a rough plan had been made. Find the divine beasts and guardians as well as search for the boy who can wield the master sword, the Princess being only a child was deemed to young to start her training so it was agreed she'd start in a few years time. Having a plan eased the Kings mind though he could not help but worry that his daughter would not survive what she was destined to do, in order to secure the royal family the King decided there need to be a precautionary heir to the throne. The Queen was not in agreement, she could not be training Zelda, managing her duties and chasing a toddler around the castle at the same time it was not possible.

After discussing the issue for a few days they had come to the decision to adopt a child a year or two younger than the princess while hiring someone to take care of them till they were older. The decision was told to the leaders of each region of Hyrule and not long after they had been given a boy from the Sheikah, the mother had been killed by the Yiga and the father was unknown. He was given the name Y/N Hyrule, and was introduced to the kingdom, there was mixed reactions to the news; some was happy with a new member of the royal family while others did not acknowledge him as royal due to not being biologically related to the family.

When Y/N was four the Queen had passed suddenly, no one had seen in coming. The Princess now had no one to guide her on how power worked and the King suddenly had both his and his late wife's duties to take care of. Y/N had been left alone, both his sister and father remained busy for years and he soon decided to join the royal guard. There a was a small school for the children who wanted to join for ten to fifth-teen, Y/N joined as soon as he was old enough.

He soon met a boy called Link, the two became close rather quickly despite Link being a few years older, with Links help Y/N became top of his class. The two hangout whenever they could which wasn't often as Link graduated sooner and joined the official royal guards earlier than Y/N. When Y/N finally graduated and joined the royal guards as well Link was appointed to be his sister personal guard, it upset Y/N as Link was much more busy now and rarely had time to do anything other than work.

Not long after Zelda's sixteenth birthday her and Link were tasked with traveling across Hyrule and finding piolets for the divine beasts which had been found a year before. Upon finding this out Y/N went straight to his father and asked to go with Zelda and Link, he was told no but after weeks of begging he was finally given permission to go with them. He was extremally excited having only travelled to Zoras Domain and Rito village a handful of times for either his Royal duties with Zelda or tournaments with Link. He packed as soon as he was given permission.

What could possibly go wrong?
