"Oh my God, I'm obese," Sade's face pretended to emotionally frown as she put a stressed hand to her forehead.
"Damn, me too," Tina chuckled while shaking her head.
"No no," Lyric laughed. "I mean yeah, you're considered bigger, but not obese," she shook her head. "You're just in another size category. Like how we have girls, teens, and women."
"Is it that way for men, Lyric?" Silas asked.
"I'm honestly not sure, I'll have to ask Akio." He gave a look that said 'who's that?' and Sade answered before Lyric caught it,
"Akio's her boyfriend that she met in Japan."
Everyone who didn't know, their eyes widened.
"And now she's considering living there with him," Amara muttered before sipping her drink. Lyric nudged her sister with her elbow.
"Amara's about to move in with a guy she's just met, while she talkin.'"
Their mother's eyes were getting bigger with every sentence at this point, and Wes was quietly chuckling to himself while sipping his own drink. Over the years, he and the twins had grown close, so he knew about this already.
"Well, Athena," Adrienne exhaled a breath as everyone chuckled at the sisters' bickering, though Sade simply shook her head with a smile. "Is there anything new with you?"
The twin with her hair now down her back, as she was now 5'10 as well, shook her head. She'd gotten into the art of dance over the years, as Amara had a talent in mathematics. One was in school to be an engineer while the other wanted to be a professional dancer.
"I uh... I auditioned for the Lakers team-"
"Anddd??!" Sade excitedly interrupted, taking the words right out of her mother's mouth as she'd sat up in her seat, as well as everyone else.
"I made the cut," Athena smiled as the entire table instantly began to clap and cheer. The only person that had known about her try-out and interest, other than Amara, was Sade. She was closest to Sade more so than Lyric, because of course her twin is like her best friend overall.
"I'm so proud of you 'Thenaaa," their mother exclaimed. Then she looked around at the table. "Wait, is there anyone else? Any more bombs to drop, anyone?"
Everyone looked around at each other until eventually Hunter spoke up,
"Tina and I are moving back to Florida," she blurted before sipping her drink. Sade and Lauren snapped their necks to the couple sitting beside them. "The best hospital in the U.S. offered Tina a top position, and I figured I could use the change in scenery."
"And your work?" Sade asked.
Hunter shrugged. "I get clients all over, so it's really not a matter where in the country I wanna live. But other than New York, most of my clients are in Florida anyway."
"Aww, I'm gonna miss you twooo," Lauren pouted as she reached a hand across Sade for Hunter's hand, who's bottom lip sympathetically poked out as well.
"I have a date Friday," Keith blurted out, making Lauren's head pop up and to her right, where her father sat.
"You what??"
"I got a dating app, like you said, and this woman asked me out-"
"What does she look like? What's her name? Does she have-"
Sade chuckled, as she grabbed Lauren's hand. "Remember Honeybee, you wanted this, didn't you?"
"Yeah..." she blew out a breath before turning to her dad again. "You like her?" she asked softly, and he smiled,
