It wasn't long before the police to show up to the construction site that Kiara directed them. In fact, it was less than a few minutes before Shoupe was jumping out of his car and directing his deputies to search the area while he spoke with the teens,

"Look, it was right here, and this is where that maniac claimed his next victim."

"Uh-huh. His next victim?"

"Yeah." Kirsten nodded.

Luca instantly noticed how Shoupe didn't seem to believe him, "Right. How long ago did you say it happened?"

"Forty-five minutes ago, Shoupe." JJ said.

"Okay." He wrote that down, "And so, Ward Cameron just popped one off and shot him."

"That's what we said, is it not?" Evelynn rolled her eyes.

Shoupe glanced at her, "Execution style? And then cleaned it all up in minutes?"

"Yeah."

"However much time it took you to get your head out of your ass and actually show up to do your damn job." Evelynn jabbed, moving over so she was leant on a pilar.

"Obviously." Pope shrugged.

"We filmed the entire thing."

"Here we go." Luca mumbled under his breath, "Y'all just don't learn your lessons, do you?"

Kirsten's eyes closed tightly at her sister's admission, already knowing that they'd get in some sort of trouble for admitting to stalking.

"You filmed it?"

"Yes, but we can't show it to you because I stepped on JJ's hand, and then he kicked Pope, and then Pope dropped the camera on Luca's face—which is why he has a black eye and it landed on the ground and because it's a piece of shit it broke."

At the mention of his name, Shoupe glanced over at the Antonio teen, eyeing him a bit before glancing at Pope,

"This is a telephoto, and we needed to get a long-distance image, and—and I fell, and it broke, so the video is basically unusable. But... but we were there, and we're—"

"So the dog ate your homework?"

Kirsten held in a groan at his tone of voice. Her shoes thumped against the wood that they stood on as she paced slightly, hands fiddling with the ends of her hair. She could feel JJ's concerned eyes watch over her figure.

"No, Shoupe. I know it sounds—"

"Look, I don't know what you kids expect me to do with this. You drag me out here in the middle of the night for a whole lot of nothing."

"No, it's not nothing." Kirsten stopped to look at him.

"Except for some crazy stories about how Ward Cameron's out on a random killing spree."
