FP3: After being late for pre-race interviews, the two had heard quite the scolding from their engineers but quite honestly, Pierre and Kiara enjoyed the time they had together.
Kiara was used to having Pierre around seeing as the two did not move away from Milan and was together ever since they had met. It was like, despite bantering their whole way in life, they didn't have the power to part ways.
It was a miracle that Kiara was put in the same team as him. She was thankful, which meant, despite she knew it would make Pierre's ego grow, she wanted to have him beside her.
That was why when they were finally on track again for free practice three and she was about to move to turn 5, her heart stopped.
She let out an involuntary yell when she saw Pierre's car skid. It was raining a bit which worried him already but seeing his car skid was something she hated.
She was about to stop the car when she heard Josh in the radio, "He's fine Kiara. Continue the lap." he said. She was going to argue but when she passed his car, slowing down a bit, she saw Pierre send her a thumbs up.
Kiara let out a breath and nodded, continuing the lap with a goal in mind; end in P1 for this practice. Pierre knew she was worried but he didn't want her to stop. Not when there was a chance that both of them could not finish the practice run.
With determination in her mind, she had succeeded in her goal and landed a P1 on the free practice. She got out of the car, Pierre walking to her, already expecting a hit in the head but it didn't land on his head, it landed on his arm.
"Ow." he said as he rubbed his arm. He looked at her who had furrowed eyebrows, he sighed and flicked her nose. "It's just a skid-" "Don't." she said.
He sighed, "I'm okay Belle." he whispered. She pursed her lips and he wrapped his arm around her. "Don't worry. You need to focus. Quali is next." he whispered and kissed her head.
Not knowing what to do, she just let it happen. Dreading quali as the rain continued.
Quali: As the race started, Kiara was in the zone. Putting her trust on Pierre's skills, she overtook Daniel and was behind Lando.
She heard Josh speak on the radio and she followed what he was saying. It was good run. Through Q1 and Q2, the Alpines were in good shape. The rain was still slowly pouring making a wet track harder for them to navigate.
Kiara hated driving on a wet track. Pierre knew that. But as she was pushed by Josh to focus, she ran through a quick lap again. But as she was overtook by Pierre, it happened again.
A skid of his car. Her heart stopped, "Josh!" she yelled. "Yes, Kiara?" the engineer asked calmly.
"Get me through Pierre." she said as she overtook Zhou and Fernando. "I don't think that's a good idea-"
"I need to know if he's okay!" she yelled at Josh. The engineer sighed, she was stubborn everyone knew that but she was more stubborn when Pierre is involved in the mix.
A second passed and she can hear Pierre explaining what happened. She waited until he was done before saying something, "Êtes-vous d'accord? tu as encore dérapé." she asked as calm as she can. (Translation: "Are you okay? You slipped again.")
But Pierre can hear it, he let out a laugh, "Je vais bien Belle. Finissons-en." he said, reassuring her. She let out a sigh, "Then don't be an idiot next time." This made him laugh more. (Translation: "I'm fine Belle. Let's finish this.")
Qualifying ended and she jumped out the car. The Alpines landed a P4 and P6. She took of her helmet and rushed to Pierre. He took of his helmet and caught her in his arms.
"Woah there Bella. I'm okay."
"I hate it when it rains."
He sighed and nodded, "I know. But we're okay." he said. Kiara nodded and hugged him back. The whole team was watching, including the PR Manager, something he noted was that it seemed that it was more real than he anticipated.
When Charles got out of his car, he noticed them too. There was something so genuine about Kiara lately and it scared him. For them and their emotions.
