No Strings Attached

Chapter 2

Haru reach her small arms to her Daddy and Nunew can't do anything but to return the baby to her Dad.
"You should go on a vacation leave too, Nhu." Said Gale. "We've been neighbors for five years and I've never seen you take a leave."
"What? I take vacation noona."
"Holiday vacation doesn't count Nhu." The lady rolled her eyes.

He just laugh. The elevator opens into the basement parking area and they all leave. He kiss the baby's forehead once again before he walk to his silver Lamborghini Murcielago.

But before he enter his car, he turned around and look at the lovely family once again. They were glowing in happiness. Nunew suddenly felt teary eyed and can't help but to get his cellphone from his bag. Still there's no new call or text message.
He enter his car and drive en route to his office.

"Hey gorgeous! It's lunch time already. You work too hard, you'll definitely get promoted to Department Head if you continue to work like that." Gummy teased. Like him, Gummy was also a chemist at Park Pharmaceutical.

Nunew smiled at her and immediately stop doing the report on his laptop about dengue hemmorrhagic fever.

"By virtue of seniority, I have to continue working and get no sleep in the span of eleven years to cope up with Senior Fort"
Gummy laugh and nods. "You're right. P'Fort is your number one rival."

Nunew fixed his things on his desk and the grab his bag. He fished out his cellphone and check if there's new text message or phone call. The text he received are from James and Nat again.

"So where are you treating me NhuNu? It's your birthday today right?"
"I already celebrated that last night. I partied 'till two o'clock." They walk together out of the main office.
"Really? But you look like someone who just had his twelve hour beauty sleep. Seriously, Life is not fair."
Nunew smiled widely and praise in his mind the powers of science and make up.

"So you are not treating me today? I guess you'll be spending your birthday with your family tonight right?"

He practiced his smile all too well. "I guess. But don't worry, I'll treat your lunch today."

"Ya. You are stinking rich and will only treat me at the cafeteria? Okay fine. There's this new whipped cream peach pie there. Let's try it."

"Nuh uh. I'm allergic to peaches."

Nunew keep the smile on his beautiful face until they reach the cafeteria. Suddenly his phone rings.
His heart beat starts to race and immediately grab the handset in his pocket. But he immediately calm down when he recognize the ringtone he assigned for James.

"Hey." Nunew tried to sound enthusiastic.

"NhuNu, how on earth did you know Zee Pruk Panich hmmm?"

Nunew and Gummy starts to fall in line to get their lunch. It was a long one since there are alot of employees already at this time.

Nunew tried to look calm. But his heart beat starts to race again. There's a fire burning in his mind as he remembers the memories of the man in the black suit last night. The memories of his hot gaze on his body makes his flesh tingle.

"I don't know him James."

"Oh! Really? So how can you explain last night then?"

"It's nothing. We danced. We kissed. End of story. Don't tell me you haven't tried something like that before?"

"Well not with Zee Pruk's caliber. Nuh uh."

The way James mentioned and praised Zee Pruk, it was as if the man's existence was the greatest thing that has ever happened to mankind after the invention of icecream. With that, he can't help but to unleashed his diva Nhu side of him.
