The previous chapter was purely informational, but why did I suddenly post that chapter?

'Cause of SHEER IGNORANCE of some people.

I came across quite a few contests that were involved in vote trading. I informed the hosts that it goes against Wattpad guidelines and the hosts understood it and removed the particular vote requirement for participation.

However, recently in a contest when I saw the hosts asking for v0tes on all chapters of a fiction book, unrelated to the contest book, I commented that it goes against Wattpad guidelines.

One of the hosts replied to my comment and said that everyone does it + they'd be giving back the votes in the form of prizes to the winners.

(So if everyone commits murder, I'll do too? Nice.)

I responded by telling them how it negatively impacts other writers who don't have the time to host contests and ask for v0tes through such means.

That's when the host went back on their words and then tagged the other host, telling them how they never supported this-

Then the 2nd host replied to my comment saying they respect my thought (it's not even my thought- it's Wattpad rules lol) and to control the fuss "I made" (apparently), they blocked me. I was confused as to why they did 'cause I wasn't going to harm them in any way...

When I first discovered the book, I wanted to participate to test my skills so I checked the rules part first to know if they mandatorily ask for resources and prompt participants to use copyright-free pictures. As soon as I saw the requirement to vote on another book, I commented on it.

However, I hadn't read the rest of the book so when I did, I realised that the host of the book had copied some parts of my own graphic contest book and pasted it into their own book 😂

Some people can't even write an invitation/rules page on their own-

Anyways, this seemed like a funny incident to me so, thought I might share.

However, on a serious note. I do think people need to stop copy-pasting contest prompts and ideas from someone else's contest and include them in theirs without even giving an inspiration credit.

I've seen this happen before with me and my friends. Honestly though, if you get inspired by someone else's contest prompt and want to recreate something like that, taking a minute to ask for permission or giving a small inspiration credit won't take much :)
