I narrow my eyes, a wave of paranoia washing over me. "Why are you stalking me? You don't even go here."

Riven cranes his head to the side, his eyes reflecting a mixture of confusion and curiosity. "I am a college student, just like you."

I regard him skeptically. "I find that hard to believe."

Riven seems to anticipate my disbelief. "You can the register office of me."

"Offices are closed."

"If you don't believe then maybe you'll have to see it with your own eyes." Riven grabs something from his pocket and tosses it at me.

It's a student ID. I take a moment to glance at his student ID, and it seems legitimate. A reluctant grin breaks through my suspicion. "For a second, I was beginning to think you're like 500 years old or something."

Riven chuckles, the tension between us dissipating. "Only a few vampires live for centuries but they have to consume hundreds and thousands of humans to achieve immortality."

"How many humans have you consumed?"

He presses his lips. "I feed on terrible people. Criminals, abusers, the greedy."

"Yeah, right." I say without believing a word from his mouth.

His eyes glazed over with desire. "I know you don't trust me because I'm a vampire, but you should know that I'm not the type to feed on pretty beings such as yourself."

I stare at him for a moment, the hairs on my arms act like signals to his words. It's probably not a great idea being around a human-eating creature. I could kill him now but it would be a foolish move. After all, he's not someone to be taken lightly; he could easily kill me in a second. I remain cautious, offering a guarded smile in response to his question.

"Now, you didn't tell me what a pretty lady like you is doing here all by herself?" Riven inquires with a disarming grin.

I hesitate, not wanting to reveal too much. "My roommate was snoring too loudly," I reply vaguely, my voice barely above a whisper.

"Same here but he has nightmares." Riven leans in, his eyes never leaving mine. The distance between us narrows in a heartbeat, and before I can blink, he's standing perilously close. "Do you have nightmares, Jade."

"Sometimes..."

His fingers gently brush my cheek, and my heart flutters at his touch. The combination of danger and intrigue swirling around him has me on edge.

"Maybe I can help you with that."

Before I could speak, Riven lips part as he leans even closer to me, his breath warm against my skin. I feel my pulse quicken, a mixture of fear and anticipation coursing through my veins. I want to reach for the stake hidden in my pocket, my instincts screaming at me, but I'm caught off guard.

Riven's lips gently brush against mine, and for a moment, time seems to stand still. The kiss is soft, almost tender. The air is thick with anticipation as I stand there, mere inches away from Riven. His eyes, a mesmerizing shade of deep blue, bore into mine. I know I should resist, that this is wrong, but it's as if an invisible force is drawing me in.

"You kissed me."

"That's exactly what I'm doing, sweetheart " he whispers.

Riven's lips hover dangerously close to mine again, and every fiber of my being screams at me to stop, to pull away, to run. But I can't. His eyes, those intense eyes, hold me in place as if they're casting a spell on me. I feel a magnetic pull, an irresistible force drawing me closer to him.

My trembling lips brush against his, just barely, and in that fleeting moment, I taste the forbidden sweetness of his kiss deeply. My resistance wanes, and I surrender to the sensation. His lips are warm, tender, and they move with a delicate, practiced grace. I feel myself being consumed by the kiss, as if I'm being pulled into one of his cloak things.

Riven's lips tug mine like he's trying to tame the beast within him, and that second subtle tug at my lips sends shivers down my spine. I find myself gripping his hair, drawing him closer, giving in to the magnetic pull between us.

I can't help but feel a strange sensation. It's as if His lips are like a gentle fire, a controlled passion that threatens to consume us both. It's an intoxicating dance, a play of emotions that I can't resist. I feel a tingling sensation spread throughout my body. It's like a cascade of electric sparks, each one igniting a new wave of desire within me.

My body goes weak, and I sway into his embrace, lost in the whirlwind of emotions that courses through me. My eyes glaze over, and I'm suspended in a world where there's only Riven and me. The rest of the world falls away, leaving us in this timeless moment.

Before I can even begin to comprehend what's happening, Riven's lips part from mine, and he leans in close to my ear. His warm breath sends a shiver down my spine as he grin while he whispers, "Sweet dreams."
