Clem sat up in her bed, looking around the run-down room her and Louis stayed in. AJ had his own room, since the couple wanted privacy and the child was 11 years old. The room wasn't anything special, with its peeling wallpaper and creaky floors, but it was theirs. That's what she loved about it. Ericsons was nice for a boarding school sat in what seemed to be the middle of nowhere, not to mention during an apocalypse, but their room was their private place. A place they could go to escape.

Clem walked into the hall looking for her boyfriend, but couldnt find him. She walked to the music room thinking he would be down there playing, but again, it was empty. She began to panic. She ran outside looking for him but only saw Willy. "Willy!" She screamed, running to him. He spun around and ran to her. "Woah, hey, Clem. Calm down. Whats wrong?" He asked, looking at her with worry. "Where- Where is Louis?" Clementine panted, trying to calm down. "Um, I think he went hunting? He might be checking the traps with Aasim." Willy said, looking in the direction of the traps. Clementine thanked him and began running towards the gate, opening it and bolting towards the traps.

Her boyfriend was nowhere in sight as the traps came into view. She looked around terrified, only calming down when she saw a figure next to the farthest trap. She ran over to it, feeling relieved as she saw her boyfriend crouched over the trap. "Louis, Hey! You scared-" She stopped mid-sentence as her boyfriend slowly stood up. Her world came crashing down as she saw his face. There was blood pouring from his mouth that had come from the rabbit he was eating. His cheek had a huge chunk biten out and he looked horrible. Clementine felt tears prick the corners of her eyes, then she felt them flow down her face. A waterfall of tears and emotions. She tried to back up but tripped on something, seeing the upper half of AJ underneath her. She screamed as they tore into her flesh.

Then she woke up. She was panting and crying, screaming as she shot up in bed, waking the boy beside her. "Clem, baby, are you okay?" Louis said, reaching for her hand and taking it in his gently. She looked at him, relieved to see his whole face. She nodded and climbed out of bed, pulling on her jeans. "Im going to go check on AJ." She said breathing heavily. "Oh, okay. Is there any reason?" Louis asked, visibly worried. "No, i just had a nightmare." She said, smiling to reassure the boy. He nodded and layed back down as she walked towards the door.

Clementine walked down the cold corridor, shivering. She scanned the walls that had messages like ' Fuck you!' scribbled on them. They were written by the Ericson kids when the headmaster abandoned them. It seemed like the thing that helped them most was writing hateful messages to him on his walls. But even that seemed to stop helping. Those walls werent his anymore. Nothing was left of the old, heartless staff of Ericson's. They had all disappeared, and the kids were okay with that.

Clementine arrived at AJ's room and opened the door, sighing in relief and smiling as she saw the boy sleeping soundly in bed. She crept out of the room and back to hers quietly so she wouldn't wake the others. She got back to her room and slipped off her jeans, climbing back into bed with Louis.

"Hey. Is he alright?" He asked, rolling over. "Yeah. Why arent you asleep?" Clementine asked, brushing one of his dreads out of his face. "I wanted to be awake when you came back." Louis said, smiling. "You know, incase you needed my help." He said cockily. Clementine laughed quietly. "Oh, so now youre some big strong man? I seem to remember you running away screaming because of a cockroach yesterday." She said, teasing her boyfriend. "I'll have you know, that cockroach was as big as my face!" Louis exclaimed, trying to justify his fears. "More like as big as my pinky." Clementine said, wiggling her pinky in Louis' face. "Whatever." He said, pulling Clementine close to him. "Goodnight." Louis said, burying his head in her neck. "Goodnight." Clementine said, closing her eyes, falling asleep in minutes.

The next morning Clementine woke up to Louis sitting at the desk in the corner of their room, hunched over something. Clementine stood up and put on her jeans, walking over to him. "Whats that?" She asked, pointing at the paper Louis was examining. "Its our hunting map." He said, sighing. "We are running low on animals to hunt. Here, here, and here have all been used up." He said, pointing at a spot to the right of Ericson's, a spot next to the river, and a spot next to the old trian station.

"What about here?" Clementine asked, pointing at a spot on the edge of their map to the left of Ericson's. "We could try there, but we dont go out that far very often. We have no clue whats out that way." He said, sighing. Louis had been under a lot of stress recently since he had been 'promoted' to the 'head of hunting'. It was really just a fancy way of saying he had to find out what to do every time the animals moved and they ran low. It was stressful.

Clem and Louis stepped out of their room into the corrior of Ericson's and walked to AJ's room to wake him up so he could get to his morning chores on time. They reached his room and knocked on his door, calling out to him. "AJ, its time to get up." They said, walking in. They were greeted with an energetic AJ, who was running up to hug them. "Good morning Clem! Good morning Lou!" He said happily. "Morning buddy. Me and Clem have hunting duty for today and you have greenhouse duty, so we probably wont see each other again until dinner." Louis said, explaining their day to the boy. He nodded along, glacing over to Clem when Louis said they wouldnt see each other again until dinner. He walked over to her, hugging her and sighing, then he turned to Louis. "You better take good care of her or else." He said, trying his best to sound threatening. Louis chuckled and nodded.

The three walked out to the courtyard, then split apart as AJ walked towards Ruby to go to the greenhouse. Clem and Louis walked to the gate, greeting Aasim and Omar as they walked past. "Hey Willy." They both greeted, grabbing their bows. "Hey guys! Catch some good food out there, im getting tired of rabbit." Willy said, groaning. Louis sighed, but quickly smiled. "Will do." He said, faking a reassuring smile.

They both walked out the gate towards the left side of Ericson's, saying nothing except for occasionally warning each other about a large rock or branch. "So.. What will we tell the others about the food?" Clem asked, breaking the silence. "I guess we have to say were running low." Louis said, helping Clementine over a fallen tree. She shrugged. "Imagine how Omar will react." Louis said, chuckling. "He will freak out. Remember the last time we ran low on a main ingredient for his soup?" Clem said, smiling as she recalled the moment. "God, i've never seen him so upset." Louis said, shaking his head and sighing.

[A few hours later]

Clementine and Louis had somehow managed to catch a deer, carrying it back and presenting it to Omar victoriously. "Thank you." Omar mumbled, busy with the food. Louis chuckled while Clem smiled. The two walked over to the long tables on the side of the corridor, sitting down and taking in the scenery. They sat in silence, enjoying each other's company. It wasn't long before Omar called out, saying that dinner was ready. Everyone rushed in, sitting at the tables and eating the delicious food. Everyone was happy that they didn't have to eat another bowl of rabbit stew, no matter how good Omar's cooking was.

Louis and Clem said goodnight to everyone and made their way back to their room. They each changed into their pajamas, climbing into bed and snuggling close. "Goodnight Lou." Clementine said, yawning. "Goodnight Clem." Louis said.
