CHAPTER 2

Monday, April 1st, 2024
Dragon Dorm Room 525
7:00 AM

    It was finally the first day of school and Hibiki's alarm clock was going off, informing him to get up. Classes didn't usually start until 8:30 but since today was an introduction day all first classes were canceled for the welcome ceremony. Hibiki got out of bed, put his slippers on, and headed to the bathroom. He knew that Haru would already be up and this was usually around the time Haru got out of the bathroom.

    Just as Hibiki suspected, Haru got out of one of the bathrooms before Hibiki went in. Haru went into his room to change into his uniform then walked out into the living room area to wait for the others. Shin Haru, is currently 16 years old and like the rest of his dormmates, he is a second-year. He is from Incheon, South Korea, and has a younger twin sister. He is what you would consider a pacifist and he likes to talk things out rather than fight.

    Taehyung walked out of his room and into the living room area to grab an apple. "We should probably head out at 8:00 on the dot, that way we won't get in trouble like we did at the third-year goodbye ceremony earlier last month." Taehyung said to Haru who was reading a book on the couch. Hibiki and Ren were currently in the bathroom getting ready which meant that Nozomu and Klaus were the only ones who were not up yet.

    "Wasn't it entirely your fault that we got scolded?" Haru asked Taehyung, closing his book and putting it on the table while raising an eyebrow at him. "If you're really so worried, you should go wake Nozomu and Klaus up. But don't forget, Klaus gets cranky if someone wakes him up." Haru told Taehyung while pointing at Nozomu and then Klaus's room, before picking up his book and reading once again. Just then Nozomu got out of his room and headed to the bathroom when Ren got out.

    "I don't think it is necessary for us to go since we are second-years now." Ren stated while drying off his hair with a towel. "Also, that was at the end of the school year, not the beginning so it's a bit different." He added, finishing up and putting the towel over his shoulder. "I'm going to go change, but I'm sure Klaus will but anytime now." He added before leaving to head to his room to get changed.

    Stella, Yozora, and Nina we're finished getting ready and we're waiting for Reina to get done. "Kangei shikiten wa kinō janakatta kke? (TRANS: Shouldn't the welcome ceremony have been yesterday?)" Nina asked while they were waiting. They did their best to teach Stella as much Japanese as they could yesterday. Stella now knew basic Japanese but still had to take a lot of notes since she wasn't fluent.

    "Nihon no kangei shikiten wa subete shonichi ni okonawa remasu. (TRANS: All welcome ceremonies in Japan are on the first day.)" Yozora explained to them while Stella and Nina nodded in understanding. "Sutera, anata wa monooboe ga hayaidesu ne. (TRANS: You're a quick learner, Stella.)" Yozora added while Nina nodded in agreement to the statement.

    "Arigatō, demo mada benkyō-chūdesu. (TRANS: Thank you, but I am still learning.)" Stella smiled in embarrassment then looked around the room for Reina. "Reina wa mada owattenai no? (TRANS: Is Reina still not done?)" Stella asked which made Yozora and Nina look around for Reina as well. Soon Reina came out of the room with her backpack in her hand. "Um, are you allowed to be wearing that?" Stella asked, pointing at the sweatshirt that Reina was wearing.

    "Shinpaishinaidekudasai, daijōbudesu. (TRANS: Don't worry about it, it's ok.)" Reina said as if it was nothing, and the girls just shrugged. "Tonikaku, ikimashou ka? (TRANS: Anyways, should we get going?)" Reina asked and they nodded while grabbing their bags. Soon they were out the door and heading to the welcome ceremony.
