Su Jiaojiao froze immediately and did not dare to move.

She turned her back to Song Qinghan and couldn't see his situation, but she was relieved when she felt him just turning over. After a few breaths, she continued her operation once more.

And she moved to get into Song Qinghan's blankets again.

She didn't stop until she moved next to Song Qinghan and covered himself with the quilt.

Su Jiaojiao thought, Why does it seem like I have more room?

But she was really warm! So comfortable!

She smiled contentedly and was about to close her eyes, when a pair of arms secretly wrapped around her. One of the arms passed under her neck, and a warm chest was pressed to her back.

A steady breath grace the top of her hair.

Su Jiaojiao's smile froze, and she didn't dare to move in fear.

It seemed like a long time had passed when she realized that the person behind him was merely holding her and wasn't moving. Then she relaxed and habitually went into his embrace.

But then, Su Jiaojiao felt something wasn't right, and a bad premonition came over her.

But before she could do anything about it, the person behind squeezed her arm and said with a sullen smile, "Is it time for you to pay me again?"

Su Jiaojiao replied, lying desperately, "No, you must be dreaming. I'm still sleeping in my own bedsheets."

"Liar!" Song Qinghan murmured in a low voice, as if he hadn't fully woken up yet. Su Jiaojiao wanted to say that they were husband and wife no matter what, and he shouldn't have asked for a fee. But it was too late for her.

The two did not stay in the city all the time.

Truth be told, their lives were happier in the country. There were many more people in the city, and Song Qinghan's parents had a lot of neighbours who were eyeing Song Jinhuai's status.

But in the village, they could let the Su family deal with the stuff they didn't want to handle. They only had to worry about their own family and live their days happily.

So the two returned to the village after a week.

During this week, Su Jiaojiao would also secretly go out to buy all kinds of things. Many things in the city were hard to find in the village, and it wouldn't be as easy to return to the city after this.

Su Jiaojiao and Song Qinghan had registered permanent residences transferred to the city due to their unique circumstances, but they were also registered permanent residents in the village. This was a loophole they were able to exploit.

Although the people in the village are curious why they didn't really leave, Song Qinghan and Su Jiaojiao grew up here, so no one asked too much about it. After all, Song Qinghan's parents lived in the city and seemed to be fairly wealthy; it'd be better to coexist peacefully with them.

Su Jiaojiao and Song Qinghan went to the city more frequently than anyone else, and the villagers often asked them to help them buy things there.

However, Su Jiaojiao didn't accept every request. She could help them buy stuff from the city, but only if it wasn't too big, or could be easily found in the village or province. She'd also need them to pay a transport fee if the item was too pricey.
