Where did we go wrong?

Part 12

"I'm gay" Finally he said it. He looked down again as he felt extremely vulnerable. He felt as his soul would get crush if he saw the disappointment in his parent's face.

For few seconds no one talked. Alec gathered all the courage and looked up at his parents. Their expressions were unreadable.

"Mom..." Alec felt a tear drop prickling his eye.

"Oh... baby" Maryse hugged Alec so tightly.

"Its okay baby. We are not angry. We are happy for you baby" Maryse kissed her eldest sons forehead. Maryse placed another kiss on Alec's right cheek and then on left cheek. She felt so bad for her baby as when she saw that one tear drop in Alec's cheek.

"We are proud of you son. Thank you for telling us" Robert finally spoke up.

"Thank you, Mom. Thank you, dad," Alec hid his face on Maryses shoulder so he didn't want his parents to see he was having a breakdown but from how his shoulders were shaking they knew Alec was crying.

"Oh, my poor baby..." Maryse kissed Alecs head again. Robert tapped on Alecs back, and he looked at his wife. Both smiled softly.

Somewhere in their heart they always knew Alec was not straight but they waited patiently till their son tell them, himself.

They waited like that till Alecs tears dried up. He genuine thought his parents were going to kick him out of his house and he will have to stop going to school and he will have to find a job. He really didnt expect his parents to be this open minded. He at least expected some scolding.

"Thank you so much" Alec sighed happily before pulling away from Maryse. Maryse wiped one last tear drop on her sons cheek.

"Dinner will be ready soon. Do you want to hang out here with us?"

"No, I promised I'll call Magnus as soon as I tell you two. He might be dying from suspension by now. I better call him"

"Knowing Magnus, he might be running around the house by now" Robert laughed. Suddenly Alec's phone started ringing. Maryse checked the number and looked at Alec.

"Its him"

"Oh I'll go to the room then."

"Sure" Maryse and Robert said together while smiling softly. Alec turned on his heels to but he turned around again.

"Mom... dad... thank you so much again. This means so much to me. I love you two"

"we love you too Alexander"

Alec went to his room and dialled Magnuss number quickly. Even before the second ring Magnuss answered.

"ALEXANDERRRRRR WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG"

"aww my ear"

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry... tell me what happened?????"

"Magnus..." Alecs voice was so sad.

"Alexander... what happened? Are you alright? Do you want me to come over?"

"My mom and dad are so angry, Magnus. I might have to leave the house. What should I do Magnus..." Alec was trying his best not to laugh.

"Oh shit... you can stay in our house. My mama and papa more than happy to have you. You know you are not alone. Mama and papa will talk with mom and dad. Dont worry Alexander" while Magnus was talking Alec could hear banging sounds from Magnuss side.

"What is going?" Alec asked.

"I'm on my way. Wait for me. Pack the essential stuff. We can go to mine tonight."

"Are you running?"

"Yeah... huh... huh..." Magnus was breathing heavily.

"I'm here" before Alec even could say it was a joke, Magnus rang the bell of Lightwood house. Alec quickly left his room to meet Magnus before anyone. But he was late. Maryse, he opened the door for Magnus.

"Oh, hello troublemaker. Give mom a hug" Maryse was happy to see Magnus.

"No, I wont" Magnus stepped back. His face was serious. He was breathing heavily from all the running.

"What?"

"You are so cruel. How can you do that to Alexander? He was so looking forward to telling you two. I thought you two are way more open minded than that" Magnus started on rambling.

"What is going on?" Even Robert joined.

"Oh shit." Alec cursed and ran and covered Magnuss mouth before he could say anything stupid. Magnus looked at Alec with his big eyes.

"What is Magnus is talking about, Alec?"

"I... I told him that you two asked me to leave the house as a joke. Before I could explain he met you two"

"Waaa?" Magnuss asked. As, Alec was still covering Magnuss mouth it sounded hilarious. Since Alec was sure Magnus now knew what is going on he removed his hand.

"Alexander What is going on?"

"I'm sorry I lied. Mom and dad didnt ask me to leave. They still love me for who I am"

"Oh..."Magnus quickly looked at Maryse apologetically.

"Sorry mom. Do you want to hug?" Magnus tilted his head and blinked few times.

"No thank you" Maryse pouted.

"Oh, come on please... I'm sorry. Its Alexanders fault. That was so not funny Alec" Magnus glared at Alec.

"Sorry"Alec scratched his head.

Maryse left to go to the kitchen. Magnus ran after her while apologizing

"Mom, come on"

"no cookies for you a whole week"

"I just want to hug..." Alec and Robert started laughing after listening to Maryses and Magnuss argue.

"You have got a good friend there Alec. Dont lose him ever"
