Ep. 3 - F-Class(2)

( Yoojin's POV )

Inside the dungeon was like a tomb, there were bat like monsters coming from every direction but the hunters took care of it using equipment and fire abilities. Soon the dungeon floor was littered with corpse of dead monsters.

''Stay frosty!, There's no telling where these monsters will pop out from!'' shouted the guild leader.

''Aw, come on. This ain't our first rodeo, Boss. Besides they're only got small fry in a Grade- D dungeon like this''. called out a hunter.

''Isn't that the hunter that messed with Yoojin earlier?, I'm going to find him and kill him!.'' my brother says pulling out his sword. ''Someone's going to die today'', I thought to myself.

''yeah mister, and why do I feel like it's going to end up bad, like he jinxed it''. Yerim says.

''Haha, I can't believe how we pissed our pants at these things during dungeon shock'' the jerk says while the guild leader bends down to pick up the mana stones left behind by the dead monsters.

'' Yeah, well we had no idea they'd be so profitable''. The boss says while holding a glowing mana stone.

'well'', Shimyung Seok ( Director Seok ) says pushing his glasses back with his fingers. '' They are the most valuable item in the planet right now because they can't be found anywhere but in dungeons...'' He kept on talking but I've already blocked my ears, if this continues how much will they see and I won't have the advantage of turning back time.

''Ooh, a big one! That's got to fetch us a few grand, even though it's just a Grade-D mana stone.'' He tuned his head to my direction and went, ''Hey, F-ranker how's the mining coming along?''

"Oh, those were the days! I used to be just a F-ranker. Mining for Grade-D mana stones, hoping for a few grand. Now, it's a whole new world." I didn't notice I said that out aloud until I saw most of the room staring at me. My lovely little brother looked at me like a puppy left alone in the rain. I quickly composed my self and said '' Now, now Yoohyun it's not your fault, sometimes things don't go the way we want them to. '' But only if I looked into it more, I...i'' He didn't get to complete the sentence before I said, ''I know....'' and we were silent.

''You know we'll take an 80 percent cut on every thing you dig up, right?''.

"Wait, 80 percent? Are you kidding me? Isn't this a scam? That's an outrageous cut!" shouted Kang Soyoung from her seating . I have to say I nearly lost my hearing.

''Yes, unfortunately it's what happens when your low ranking hunter'' said Yoo Myeongwoo .

'' But that's not fair they, risk there lives as well'', Yerim commented. ''Sorry Yerim but it's the reality'', I said while patting her head.

'' Huh?, But I've only got scraps...''

''Well, We're got dibs on mana stones dropped by monsters. So you'd better keep digging if you want to walk away with empty pockets!.

'' Damn, this bastard. He's getting on my nerve''. I looked towards Yoohyun who said that through gritted teeth.

''Geez'' I muttered under my breath.

'' And if we catch you trying to pocket extra stones, we'll strip you naked and tie you to a pillar!''

"Wow, it's like we live in two completely different worlds. On one hand, you've got this sinister, oppressive threat. And then, you think of Cinderella, with her stepmother and stepsisters, behaving all petty and self-absorbed, 'TEEHEE! Finish your chores while we go to the ball!' It's like a twisted fairy tale gone wrong."
