When I had returned from the back the stranger was gone and yet somehow his presence still lingered. I went through the rest of my shift as I normally would trying to clear my mind only for it to go drifting back.

By the time the shop was ready to close, I finally had worked up the nerve to ask Edger who the stranger was only to be oddly frustrated when he simply said an old friend. I took my loss figuring I may never see him again as I had never seen him before in the shop.

I sighed in contentment as I saw the soft drizzle of rain outside as I flipped over the sign on the door. Before walking to the counter to gather my things I took note of Edger working away in his notebook logging something as he always did at the end of work. I asked him if there was anything else he needed before I headed out only for him to act surprised I was still there making us both laugh before he shooed me away noting yet another bad rain storm was on its way and how I might want to run back to campus as to not get drenched.

I laughed as I walked out the door making sure to secure my hood. I stood for a moment under the awning just staring out into the rain I always enjoyed the rain letting my heart fill with joy as the smell of fresh rain hit my nose. I took a moment to just enjoy the world before I shifted my headphones under my hood so that they covered my ears letting a soft melody play as I started my walk.

As I walked I couldn't help but think of the stranger in my heart there was this screaming feeling that I had known him but I couldn't place my finger on it. It frustrated me to the point where I stood for a moment and whispered a soft prayer to any deity who would listen to help me remember. I felt my eyes drift close as the rain hit my face.

I was startled as I was yanked from my spot by a strong force that sent tingles down my spine. As I looked back I was startled to see a car wizz past the spot I was once in not seeming to have even been fazed by where I once stood. I blinked for a moment staring at the spot when soft fingers softly grazed my cheek drawing my attention to the person who saved me.

As I looked into his eyes I went weak. It was the stranger from the shop and his eyes were filled with worry despite his face remaining calm. My lips moved before I could let my thoughts process. A soft whisper I could barely hear came from my lips.

"Hello my Dream" I didn't know why I said what I did but I'd do it again to watch the fireworks go off in his eyes or to get him to reply like he did.

"Hello, my Raven" his words were soft as they brushed my skin leaving a trail of shivers in their wake as I stared into his eyes I couldn't help but smile. I didn't know why but this felt right being in his arms while the world seemed to disappear from around us I was close enough to see the love in his eyes as he admired my every feature.

"My raven we need to get up" his voice rang in my ears as his fingers softly traced the details of my face. I whined not wanting to leave the warm bed around us. His laugh was deep and genuine making me turn to him a little more as his hand found its place on my cheek with his thumb. I couldn't help the smile spread across my face as my eyes examined the expanses of his face. I pulled him in for a kiss letting out a satisfied hum at the sparks running through my veins.

As I came back to reality I was startled to realize he was gone. I looked around for a moment before feeling the emptiness set in. I stared at the spot he once was for a moment trying to process what had just happened. My mind drifted back to the thought that felt so much like the dream of a memory. He seemed so happy and it made me wish I could go back to that thought and live there forever.

Shaking my head I took one last look around just now registering that it is still raining. I adjusted my headphones under my hood yet again letting my fingertips graze the pendent on my neck before letting my hand drop back to my side and continuing my walk back to campus.

When I got back to the dorm I made quick work of changing before making myself from tea after checking my phone. Sighing I climbed into my bed and decided that I just wanted to watch a movie or two before bed not feeling up to writing. I always felt disappointed in myself when I didn't write but I felt a need for a bit of mind-numbing TV  before bed so as not to think about him again.

But it seemed to be of no use. I grumbled to myself as I stared at the movie blankly. I quickly closed my laptop hopped out of bed and headed to the sink I reached over to turn on the light only to realize the power had gone out.

"What the fuck" I swore smacking the counter annoyed before turning on the water by pure feel alone. I splashed my face with some cold water taking a moment to let the water cool feeling to refresh my skin. As I whipped my face I looked in the dark mirror. I took a moment to look down to follow my own movements in the dark as I turned off the water and looked up I was startled to see a pair of golden yellow eyes staring back at me. As I whipped around I saw nothing.

Swearing to myself I decided that I should go to bed before my brain played any more tricks on me.
