Did she really love him?.

"I want to be alone."

She was sitting on. Her head resting on the table not bothering to look at who it was that followed her.

"Imagine me not here." I said.

She snapped her head up and glanced at me. Her mouth opened slowly then shut.

Her eyes were red and swollen. My heart ached for her. I just wished I could take away all the pain she was feeling.

Michael will pay for this.

"I hate my life." She said softly.

I came closer her. " I can imagine." I said.

What she needed lastly was pity.

"I don't know why I date the wrong guys. I have dated guys that have cheated on me, that have looted from me and finally Michael" she sighed.

I didn't say anything.

"I'm just lucky I didn't say yes to him. Maybe God was trying to prevent me from saying yes."

So she had wanted to say yes.

"What do you mean ?."

"His ring got missing or it was in the car whichever, his car got ruined. All that spoilt the proposal."

I couldn't hide the relief on my face

"You look pleased." She said.

"Well yeah. Imagine saying yes to him and then seeing the video."

"I would have felt dumb." She said softly. " Here I am pouring out my life to you when your company is going through a lot. I'm sorry"

"I'm not complaining." I said.

"I saw the video before I came here. I feel guilty."

"You saw the video?."

She nodded. " I thought at first that's why you were here. Maybe you were going to let me have the yelling of my life."

I frowned." Why would I shout at you?."

She shrugged." Cause it's my fault. I told Rasaq after all."

"No matter what I would never shout at you."

She looked in my eyes and I hoped she could see the truth in those words.

"I've probably caused a rift between you and Zina."

"Maybe it's a good thing." I said absently.

"Good thing?. You showed her to you parents, you..." She began to ramble and I couldn't help but smile.

She looked cute but she sure did talk alot.

There was only one way to shut her up.

I kissed her slowly on the lips. Her eyes widened with Shock.

Unknown to me. I hadn't expected this feeling.

Her lips were soft. I hadn't expected this sweetness. I could feel my tummy knot and pleasure stirring.

My mind was going amok.

I became shocked when she kissed me back.

Her lips parted slowly for me and I closed the space between us.

I haven't felt like this with Zina whenever we kissed.

She suddenly broke apart.

"Wha.. what was that for ?."

We were both breathing hard.

"You were rambling." I said.

"You didn't have to kiss me. It's obvious you took advantage of my helplessness." She was winning like a child.

"Helplessness?. You kissed me back."

"Well I wouldn't have if you had not kissed me first."

"Why do you like fighting with me." A smile curved on my face.

"That's because your always giving me a reason to." She frowned. " You can't just go around kissing women. Your engaged."

"Your the first woman I've kissed apart from Zina."

"Still doesn't make a difference even though you kissed me to shut me -"

"What if that's not the only reason why?."

She suddenly grew quiet. " What are you talking about?" Her voice came out soft.

I knew I was thinking clearly. The kiss was still messing with my senses and emotions stripped away all logic.

"I love you."

She gaped." You.. you can't. Your engaged. " She stuttered." You don't know what your saying Seyi."

"I'm serious Osas. Ever since I saw you at that airport, I couldn't get you out of my system, out of my mind. Seeing you today just made me realise how much I really love you."

Her eyes were filled with horror." You can't just be saying those words Seyi!. Michael said those words to me and see what he has done. Your saying this words to me and your engaged! Do you all think I'm a toy that you can play with my feelings" she sounded hurt.

Maybe I shouldn't have told her.

"I don't see you as a toy Osas. I can't just imagine myself spending the rest of my life with Zina. I see my future in your eyes. I see myself with you."

"Seyi -"

"I was planning of ending my engagement anyway with Zina and it's not because of you. I just realised I can't just be with her. My parents aren't smitten about her either."

"You can't just end your engagement with Zina. You have been with her for-"

"Three years but I want to spend my years with you Osas. I'm not asking you to marry me or anything all I'm just saying is I love you".

"Please don't. Don't say those words. It's not -"

" I'm not saying it as a threat. I love and that's it. I'm happy that you did not say yes to Michael. I'm willing to spend my years with you until I leave this earth and if you don't love me back then fine, your happiness matters to me anyway but just know one thing I will always be there for you whether you want it or not." I kissed softly on the lips then left the kitchen.

Osas P.o.v

My fingers were on my lips were he had just kissed.

I could still feel the flutter in my heart and the racing in my pulse. The first kiss had come to me as shock but who knew I would have kissed him back.

I could not help myself. His lips were perfect and gentle. It was different from Micheal.

Seyi made me grow hot and cold all of a sudden. I could feel passion and pleasure stirr within me. I felt comfort. It was something longing for but I was also scared.

He had said he loved me. What those words do to me.  If not for the little control I still had I would have blurted it back to him.

His eyes and tone told me he wasn't lying and I believed him. He had said he was leaving Zina and not because of me... Maybe I can give him a try. With him everything feels different. I feel at ease when I'm with him.

Although he brings out the worst in me but -

If you care about your life and your family especially that little boy with you stay away from Seyi Oyefeso.....

There is no way I can be with Seyi even if I wanted to. I will just endanger every one including him probably.

And my heart ached for the love I could never have.
