The next week, I woke up to a man's voice downstairs. I walked down to see a guy that looked like one of the guys from Nickelback. He was sitting with his arm around my mom's shoulder. "Good morning mom. Who's that and why is his arm around you?" I asked.
My mom looked at me and then looked at the man beside her and said, "Good morning Annabelle. This is my husband, Chad Kroeger, your new dad. Chad, this is Annabelle, our daughter, I adopted her last week to surprise you."
Chad got up and gave me a hug, "Welcome to the family."
"There's also a baby, her name is Elizabeth. She is just precious. I'm pretty sure that she's still asleep though. I'll take you to see her if you want," my mom told my dad.
"Umm sure." We walked down the hall and entered one of the old guest rooms.
