I clenched and unclenched my fist.

"... But she's still planning of going to talk to Ola."

"She's going to meet with Ola." My voice rose more than I wanted it to.

Ruth stared at me." Yeah but she's going with Michael. I made her promise me that."

Of course there's Michael.

But it's better than her going alone.

All of a sudden I felt bad for not calling her.

I rubbed my neck innocently." What I meant is what are you going to Abuja to do."

A smile stuck on her face. " I'll sure love that and don't forget to add you saw me with a man."

I laughed." He will surely hate that."

Ola P.o.v

Gerald was in my office when I called for Mr Solape.

This was going to be awkward. It still came as a shock that it was Mr Solape that was involved in a fraud after all his years off supporting me. All was just an act.

"You called for me."

It wasn't Me Solape but Michael.

What was he doing here?.

"I didn't call for you." I stated.

"Wasn't talking to you." He replied.

"Don't use that tone on-"

"I called him Ola." Gerald cut in.

"Why?".

"Why not." Was all he said.

"You resumed work around ten. Why is that ?".

"Private matters." He said dryly.

"Not my business. Work starts nine, exception is nine thirty. That's a query for you."

He let out a disbelief laugh." Query me?."

"I won't repeat myself."

"If you like fire me just to feed your ego-"

"That's enough." Gerald snapped." Both of you should stop acting like children. Whatever problems you both have should not be carried into work."

A knock sounded and Mr Solape entered.

"Evidence has already been proven that shows your the person." I deadpanned.

He a flicker of shock and hurt flashed in his eyes." Ola you don't believe me?."

"It's either we take this matter the legal way lr you choose to compensate for the money you have swindled from the company."

"I didn't commit and fraud!" He snapped.

"Can you prove what your saying is true?" Gerald requested.

"I'm being framed is all I can say. I would never commit fraud."

"Who would want to frame you?." I asked.

"I don't know." He let out a weary sigh.

"Unless you can prove tha-"

"I believe Mr Solape." Micheal interjected.

I flashed him an angry glare." Your opinion is not require here Michael."

"Why isn't it?". Gerald asked.

"Cause I said so." I snarled angrily.

"What's wrong with you Ola. After I've been with you for all these years you still don't know what I'm capable and in capable of doing?."

I felt a twinge of pity and guilt.

This is for the betterment of the company. No feelings involved Ola.

"Like I said earlier, I would only believe you if you can prove your the one that didn't do it and provide the one that did it."

"Can you?".

"Sorry?." I glanced again at Micheal.

"Can you prove your not the one that released the video Ola?. Can you provide the one that did it?".

My back stiffened. "It's not related to any-"

" But it is." Mr Solape said curtly. " You could not provide who released the video or whether you were the one and yet you want to fire me. Isn't that hypocritical."

" I'm clearly not the one that-"

" He seems to have a point Ola "

" Not you too Gerald !" I exclaimed.

" I'm trying not to be biased here Ola."

" So what are you then saying?"

"If we fire Mr Solape here then we have to fire you also."

"Fire me ! You cannot. I'm the boss of this company."

"Acting boss." Michael corrected.

" But it's not -"

"Now you know how it feels." Mr Solape said with disdain.

"What if I don't fire Mr Solape again?".

"That's being selfish. All for your own benefit." Gerald

"What if we suspended them both until they can prove their innocence."

I was surprised that Michael had suggested that. I would have the he would have jumped for the idea to have me fired.

"That seems reasonable. Ola and Mr Solape, for  the mean time you are suspended so no coming to the office-"

"But how can I prove my innocence?" Mr Solape asked.

"Fine. You can come but not you Ola."

"Why not?." I

"Cause I said so." Gerald said as a matter- of - fact.

"Thanks." All had left the office and I said before Michael could step out.

"I'm not doing this for you. It's for Osas."

"If it's for her I won't accept."

He turned and faced me." Then you can leave. I would especially love that."

"Thought so to." Michael said and stepped out of the office.

I didn't want Osas pity. I wanted nothing to do with her. Again.
