Swallowing the lump in your throat, you said, "No, Joshua. I can't just sit here and watch you suffer. I will make some soup for you, no matter what."

With a chuckle, Joshua replied,
"You'll always be stubborn, won't you?"

He smiled at you, his face radiating warmth despite his weakened state.

His grip on your hand tightened slightly, as if reassuring you of his appreciation.

Emboldened by his reaction, you squeezed his hand gently. "Well, then get ready for the best soup you've ever had, because I won't take no for an answer."

With determination in your voice, you turned to head towards the kitchen, hurrying as fast as you could.

As you bustled around gathering ingredients, your mind was filled with thoughts of Joshua's well-being.

Making your way to the kitchen where it was your first time in his house.

You rummaged through the cupboards to find the ingredients for the perfect soup.

As you chopped down the vegetables and added some spices, the aroma filled with the air, filling you with a sense of satisfaction

After what seemed like an hour you finally return to Joshua's side with a warm bowl in your hands, you handed it to him, a tender smile illuminating your face.

"Here you go," you said softly, "my special homemade soup. I hope it makes you feel better."

Joshua's eyes softened as he gratefully accepted the offering. Cupping the bowl between his trembling hands, he looked up at you, warmth and adoration shining in his gaze.

"Thank you," he said, his voice teeming with emotions. "Not just for the soup, but for everything. For being here, for taking care of me...this really means a lot to me."

You felt tears welling up in your eyes, overwhelmed by the depth of his gratitude.

Sitting besides him, you reached out to brush a stray strand of hair from his face.

"Joshua," you whispered, your voice filled with tenderness, "you don't have to thank me. I'm here for you, always. Friends take care of each other, especially in times of need."

He smiled, a genuine smile that reached the corners of his eyes, and nodded appreciatively.

"I know. And I'm grateful to have you by my side. Your presence alone heals me in more ways than you can imagine."

As you sat beside Joshua, you couldn't help but notice how weak he looked, you noticed him struggling to eat his soup.

"Want me to feed you?" you offered him.

At first he hesitated but then he smiles and says "okay sure"

You gently lifted the spoonful of soup to his lips, careful not to spill.

"Here comes the airplane," you said playfully, guiding the spoon into his mouth.

Joshua couldn't help but burst into laughter as he opened his mouth ready to be fed by an imaginary airplane.

"See? I always knew you had an amazing laugh!" you exclaimed feeling a rush of joy.

"Mmm," he said, savoring the warmth and flavor.

"You know, I think this might be the best soup I've ever had."

You smiled, feeling a surge of pride. "Well, after all whose the chef now."

His laughter never stopped as he enjoyed his unique experience.

"You know," he chuckled in between, "no one has ever fed me like this before."

"You're pretty good at this."

You smiled at his words and continued feeding him, you couldn't help but notice how his face lit up with each bite.

Joshua then playfully protested, "I think I'm full now, really."

"Just one more spoonful, Joshua. Please I promise it's the last one." you insisted.

He laughed and opened his mouth obediently, allowing you to feed him.

The more you fed him, the more you felt a sense of fulfillment and joy.

It was as a simple act, but in that moment, it felt like the most meaningful thing you could do for him.

As he finished the last spoonful, Joshua let out a contented sigh and leaned back against the pillows.

"Thank you for making this delicious soup for me," Joshua whispered, his voice filled with an appreciation that touched your heart.

"Anytime," you replied softly, squeezing his hand. "I'm always here for you, Joshua."
