Liv was tap dancing with joy and I roll my eyes"it's not such a biggie,just a bite"I say as we were five classes away from the history lab.
"No biggie?Nat he's so cute.You guys look cute together"she cooes.
"Up up up don't start shipping here"I warn her.
"Fine"she huffs as we walk into class.
"Good morning class"Mrs Sammy chirps.She has a lovely navy blue summer dress on,with a white light jacket and some flats.Her wavy hair falls on her waist,swaying as she makes every movement."you'll be solving puzzles today,so grab a partner"she says and bends down to get the puzzles.
I grab Liv's hand and we were paired.Mrs Sammy shared the puzzles and I sulk when I see the total amount of pieces;900pcs.
This is going to take forever...
Everyone groans at the amount and Liv looks like she was about to throw a tantrum.I calm her down and looked at Mrs Sammy as she began to speak.
"No need to do this class,you have partners,so it'll be quicker.You'll get extra credits if you finish before your partner does.You need to finish in two and a half weeks time.The half being Wednesday or Thursday morning.So,open and see who you'll be solving"she sounds really excited.She's not solving anything anyways...
I open the pack and gasped..
"The Monalisa"Liv and I say in unison.
"So you may start now before this period is up"she says and sits down in her sway chair.
"Nat"Liv pouts.
"No,we have to start now" I stare at her.She huffs before scattering the pieces and solving them angrily.One of them snaps due to the force she used and she freezes.
"Oh and class,none of them should break,that'll mean less points for your team"Mrs Sammy chirps before going back to her files.
Liv wants to cry.I want to cry...my grades were at stake.
"Liv...why you"I say angrily.
"It was a mistake"she says sadly.
"Well fix it then"I snap and continue doing my work.
"This is a problem"she said and I nod in agreement.I know I'm angry so I have to calm down.
"Guess we have to buy another pack"I groan in frustration, thinking of how much we'd be spending.
"Is everything alright miss Davis?"Mrs Sammy asks.
I have a semi panic attack on the spot.
"No ma'am,just thinking of which piece goes where"I lie.
"It's okay.I know you can do it"she encourages me and goes back to reading what looks like a magazine..
"How much do you think it costs?"Liv whispers.
"I don't know"I whisper back.
Liv looks like she was thinking and she beams.
"Probably $50 or $60?"she smiles sheepishly.
I glare at her for a while and shake my head.
"More like $100"I tell her and she looks shocked.
"W-what?But why?"she asks.
"Because,it's the Monalisa,not some frozen twenty piece puzzle"I answer bluntly.
"This is bad"Liv says.
"Really bad"I added some wood to the fire.
"Really really really bad"she whispered as if she was about to cry.
