“Boys,” she said, finally at their table. Three men in tuxedos focused their attention on her. “I have your drinks.”
The men smiled. The woman sighed and rolled her eyes. “Because you just couldn’t get them yourselves, can you?” she said sarcastically. She then handed a glass to one of the men. “Joshua, here’s your Jack and Coke.”
Joshua smiled gratefully and took the drink from her. “Thanks, Tiff.”
“Christian, here’s your Royal Passion,” said Tiffany, handing him his drink.
Christian grinned and took the drink from her. “Thanks.”
She shook her head, smirking. “What would Dominique say once she sees you here, drinking a cocktail with vodka?”
“She won’t be able to say anything. She’ll be too busy killing me,” said Christian, shrugging and taking a sip of his drink.
“You’re not scared?” asked Joshua, laughing.
“Honestly,” said Christian, waving him off, “I’ve grown quite immune to her already. Besides, Joshua, I have the best criminal lawyers as friends. Once I die, you guys will know what to do.”
Joshua snorted and sipped his own drink. Tiffany shook her head and smiled. “You better hope she doesn’t find out, then.”
Christian pointed his finger on every person at their table. “You guys better not say anything if you want to see me alive.”
Tiffany handed Samuel his drink. “Here’s your Desperado.”
Samuel smiled. “Thank you, Tiff.”
Tiffany took her own drink and sat down on her seat beside Christian, looking at the people dancing. “This party’s better than last year’s. Mister B had certainly outdone himself.”
Amelia Milton, a kind woman in her sixties, smiled at Tiffany gently. “Gil always tries to do his best. I’ve noticed that he’s gone all out this year.”
“I don’t know honey,” said Robert Milton, straightening his bowtie and putting his arm around his wife, Amelia, “last year, we had fireworks.”
Tiffany smiled at the old couple and took another sip from her own drink. Samantha Milton, Samuel’s twenty-nine year old sister, rolled her eyes and stood up. “So, I’m going to the bar. Who wants drinks?”
“I’ll have a Dalton,” said Robert, smiling at his daughter.
Amelia raised her eyebrow at her husband. “Oh?”
Robert looked at his wife and smiled sheepishly. “Oh come on, Amy, it’s a party! And it’s been so long since I had a drink.”
Amelia rolled her eyes and smiled, letting this one pass. “Fine.”
Robert looked at his daughter and gave her two thumbs up. Samantha laughed, waving him off and looking at the others. “What about you guys?”
Christian looked at his phone and cursed under his breath. He looked at Samantha. “I’ll have a .46 Magnum.”
Tiffany raised her eyebrow. “What happened to your Royal Passion?” she asked, motioning to the still half full drink near him.
“The wife’s coming. She’s twenty minutes away,” he said, by way of explanation.
“I’ll have Scotch on the rocks, with a twist,” said Samuel, a strained smile taking over his face.
Samantha nodded. She turned to look at Tiffany. “Hey, Tiff, can you please help me?”
