Haerin was fascinated by the speed and technique with which Kim Minji brought down four guys who were much taller than them. Choi San was twice her size, yet she managed to knock him out.
And the worst part was, the raven-haired girl didn't even break a sweat.
She wasn't even disheveled.
Damn perfect.
"Hey!" Minji shouted to snap her out of her trance. "A picture will last longer!"
And there it was again, that mocking smirk that Haerin despised so much.
Haerin huffed at the comment, shook her head, and ignored her as she headed to a more distant part of the training field, where straw dummies were set up.
She unsheathed her sword and tried to spin it in her wrist as she had seen more skilled campers do so many times. At least she didn't hurt herself doing it anymore, but she lacked fluidity.
She took a deep breath and began to make small thrusts at the straw man. From time to time, she would spin or act as if it were attacking back, simply to practice, not as if she had a mental illness.
The blows she struck weren't very heavy, causing her to only cut the superficial part of the straw dummy.
A laugh behind her stopped her thrusts. She knew that laugh perfectly.
Again, the idiot Kim Minji.
Can't I even train in peace?
Unbeknownst to her, she began to increase the power and pace of her thrusts.
She's so self-centered.
A thrust.
She may be the best in combat, but as a person, she leaves a lot to be desired.
Another thrust.
I hate when she looks at me as if she's better than me.
Another strong blow.
Fighting isn't everything, she doesn't have to feel superior to me because of it.
An even stronger blow.
I hate that damn smile.
She kicked the dummy's head.
Why does it seem like she only cares about Pham Hanni?
She cut the dummy's arm.
Does she really only worry about her?
A muffled scream.
If Pham is her girlfriend, I don't care.
Another scream.
She can do whatever she wants.
A punch.
She's going to do whatever she wants.
She hit the dummy with the sword's hilt.
And I don't care.
She shook her head as she increased the speed and force of her blows.
I don't care.
A growl escaped her mouth.
WHY DO I CARE?
She ended up stabbing the straw man's head completely with the sword and then finished tearing and breaking the figure from head to toe.
Her breath was heavy, and drops of sweat fell from her forehead. She looked at the mess scattered all around. She had shattered the dummy.
She raised her sword and saw herself reflected in the blade.
