When Fatima put her wash cloth down she noticed Zac with the phone and snatched it as quick as she could.
"Hello?" She heard her mother's voice before she ended the call
"Yo what's up" Zac ask confused looking for her "Put the pants on and let's go" he demanded as Fatima moved around him to her clothes drawer.
"Stop tryna do some cute shit and put the damn sweats on Fatima you're pissing me off" he says as his grabbed his car keys off her desk
"Let's go-
He says as he turned around just to hear his phone go off in the bathroom where Fatima left it, leaving him to walk back in.
"Zac!" Fatima called out catching his attention before he answered the phone as he stood stuck staring at Fatima.
"When did you take that?" He ask walking up to her and grabbing the pregnancy test out of her hand
"This morning" she said "After you went to work" she said lowly
"Damn" he says sitting in the chair as he looked down at the test.
"Forreal?" He ask looking up at her and she nodded
"Danni bought two and I only took the one." She says "I wanted to take this one with you" she adds
"Come on then" he says "Your moms gon keep calling, she already knows something is wrong."
Fatima went to take the other test while Zac stood taking a deep breath before calling her mother back.
"Zachary?!" Fatima's mother voice boomed through the phone
"Yes-
"What the hell is going on? You called me and hung up. Where's Fatima?" She asked concerned
"She's in the shower. I called you by accident." He says as Fatima opened the bathroom door with the test in her hand
"She still not feeling well? She didn't answer any of my calls." Her mother said
"They up there fucking she probably needs to take a damn test" they could hear her father in the background and both of their eyes popped open. They could hear her mother shut him up.
"When I got off she said she felt much better-
Fatima intensely pointed at the soup and back at her mouth trying to give Zac cues
"I got her some soup and she ate it." He says and Fatima nodded
"Did you get Gatorade? She needs to rehydrate" her mother ask
"Yeah I got a few of them and a ginger ale. I'll make her call you when she gets out of the shower" Zac tells her mother as Fatima told him to hurry up and end the call
"Make sure she does. If not she needs to call me as soon as she gets up in the morning. I'm not playing Zachary. And make sure her temperature isn't high!" her mother says
"I'll make sure" he says before the call ends
"What does it say?" He ask
"Yes" was all she said and Zac exhaled through his nose.
"I know" Fatima says putting her head down.
"You know what?" Zac ask
"No one wants this. We're about to graduate and we definitely said no kids until we were situated and married. I didn't-
"Fatima please. Just be quiet for a minute" he says and Fatima closed her mouth. A few moments went by before Zac chose to speak again.
"We're grown. We got it. We'll be straight. We knew what it was when we started going crazy. I'm not surprised I just wished we were more careful" he says
