Keith's mother had left him when he was just a baby, and his father died when he was a child. He'd been in and out of foster homes almost as long as he could remember. But a few years before his freshman year, he'd been taken in by Shiro. Shiro was like a brother to him. He was always there when he needed him most, and also a bit of an ass sometimes, but in the best way possible. Shiro was gay, and he had a boyfriend, Adam.

When he was in freshman year of high school, Keith met a group of friends. Pidge, absolute smartass, though sort of sweet when needed to be. Hunk, cooks the best food, gives the best hugs. Allura, caring and always there for her friends, not afraid to stand up for them. There was... another guy too. We'll get to him. They had all been friends since way before Keith came into the picture, though he seemed to fit right in.

Although, there was this other boy in the group. His name? Lance McClain. Lance had never liked Keith, Keith had never liked Lance. Always been that way. Lance was, well, an asshole. Lance was egotistical, cocky, and arrogant. He made stupid jokes at the worst times. He was impulsive, definitely insecure, and caught up in his own view of the world. He acted like he was better than everyone else.

To literally anyone but Keith, Lance was friendly. Sweet even. He'd flirt with any girl he saw, hell, he'd even flirt with guys (though Lance swore it was just as a joke.) But to Keith? He acted like an idiot, and called him mullet. Mullet! He didn't even have a mullet! The guy always got upset when the other's invited Keith to hang out with them. Jesus, enough about that guy.

Despite all this, Keith really enjoyed being with the group, he'd go out with them almost every day, many nights, too.

By the time they got to their senior year though... Keith had almost completely stopped hanging out with them. He'd drifted away over the years. He still texted and called with them, but he pretty much never bothered to go out. He was just sick of Lance always, always being there. It was seriously like he didn't have anything better to do, ever.

Eventually, college came by. There he was, standing in front of his dorm, a brown carboard box with most of his thing in his arms. It was a two-person room. He was happy about it though, cause at least they got a kitchen, their own bathroom, and a living room, as well as their own rooms. He wasn't very excited about actually having to be with someone else though.

Keith took a deep breath, opened the door, and went in. He almost dropped the cardboard box when he saw who it was. "No."

This is where you continue as Lance:)
