Hunter laughed a bit, allowing himself to be lead by his all too eager boyfriend.

It was times like this he remembered the reason he fell in love with Edric.

The soft, puppy-like energy that was contagious, forcing a giggle or a smile to show itself. The eagerness to be alive, to thrive alongside everyone. He couldn't remember seeing Edric upset or sad, ever. If Hunter gave that a second though, he would have realized that's unhealthy, especially for someone who he knew had plenty going on.

Still.

Some nights, when he had nothing to read or think about  and Edric was already asleep, Hunter would sit there and imagine a future together.

Their wedding.

Their house.

Their two cats, a parrot and Flapjack.

The two of them would have their happily ever after, without Belos, without Odalia, without anyone else to ever bother them again.

And yet, after the day of Unity, Hunter could never imagine those days without being scared they'd never have them.

After a couple moments of being lost, Ed finally lead him successfully to the small, pond area not too  far from the fountain show they were supposed to meet Willow at.

The entire area was covered by a huge, pink tree shading the space and the pond. Soft pink petals were scattered on the terracotta bricks, one of the few pops of color.

A fish pond in the center, warm grey stones arranged perfectly around it. Orange and white and black fish swam in circles, much like the koi fish of the human world. No other witches or demons were in this particular garden, much too preoccupied by the other much more exciting areas and attractions in the garden.

Hunter sighed, full of contentment. He sat down on a bench, sat not too far from the edge of the pond. He looked down at his own rippled reflection in the calm water. Ed joined him, sitting down directly next to him. Hunter rested his head on Edric's shoulder, taking deep breathes. Ed's arm wrapped around him, squeezing the pair together.

He could have stayed like that forever.

Hunter turned up to him, looking up at Ed. Ed looked back down at him, a soft glisten in his eye. The two began to lean, initiating a soft, slow intimate kiss...

SLAP!!

A butterfly flew directly at Edric's face and slammed into him.

A God damn butterfly as big as his hand.

Both sat there for a few moments in a dead silent shock as the creature slowly slid off his face, into his lap.

Edric had to stop himself from screaming at the size alone.

It was, as aforementioned, about the size of his hand. A deep orange, it's wings flared out at each end and curved inwards. The ends faded out into a deep, warm brown color lined with white. Black speckles were spread across the surface
