An unexpected romance /inoaoi

Bonus chapter 1:the proposal

Inosuke and Aoi had been dating for 5 years they were the only ones in their friend group who weren't married and had kids, but this didn't bother them well it annoyed inosuke slightly because aoi was saving herself for marriage so the farthest they ever got was second base

Inosuke didn't mind that much, but he ofcourse really wanted to, but there was one thing he wanted even more to make her his wife

They never talked about marriage before, but inosuke knew he wanted it more than anything, so he went to nezuko for help since she lived. I'm he town he made an excuse and went to see nezuko

When he arrived, he was greeted by a pregnant nezuko. "Hi, inosuke, I wasn't expecting to see you today,"

"Well, I need your help with something," he scratched his neck nervously

"Are you finally going to propose to Aoi?" Said in a mocking tone

Inosuke nervously smiled "Well yeah,"

Nezuko eyes widend. "Really?! Finnaly!"She hugged him

"Why are you so excited about this?"

"Because it's taken you so long to propose to your girlfriend!"

Zenitsu came running behind inosuke. " I heard everything!" He placed down the shopping bags and high fived inosuke

"Well, anyways, I'm not sure how to propose,"

Nezuko had an idea. "Take her to where you guys went on your first date, and when the sun is setting, get on one knee and ask her,"

"That's a great idea,"

"Of course it is my wife thought of it!" Zenitsu hugged nezuko

Inosuke thanked them and went back to the butterfly estate where Aoi was busy doing laundry

He hugged her from behind. "Hey princess, are you busy tonight?"

"Nope,"

"Wanna go on a picnic with me tonight?"

"Sure, I'd love to. I'll go pack it,"

"No, it's fine. I'll do that,"

"Oh alright, I'll just finish this, then I'll get ready, I guess," she kissed his cheek and brought the laundry inside

Inosuke went to the kitchen and packed what he assumed was needed for a picnic

Later on He decided that since it was big night, he'd wear a ✨️shirt✨️

He rushed to his room and grabbed his white shirt, and buttoned it up. He tied his hair back and buttoned up the shirt he wasnt sure why he was so nervous, but he tried to ignore it, and grabbed the ring and I up it in his pocket

He rushed outside to see his girlfriend standing waiting. There was wearing a pretty medium length white dress her hair was down flowing in the wind she had a white bow in her hair he nearly passed out he was so nervous

Her wearing a white dress made him twice as nervous
He quickly said

"You look good in white,"

"Thank you, inosuke-What's with the shirt?"

"I just thought it might be nice to change things up a little," he shrugged and grabbed her hand

"So where are we having this picnic?"

"You'll see," he led her to the tree they sat under on their first date

Aoi smiled. "You remembered where we had our first date,"

"Of course I did, princess," he set up the picnic

He handed her a plate of food

"Thanks, inosuke," she started eating

Inosuke was so nervous he barely ate

"Inosuke, are you alright, you're barely eating anything?"

"I'm fine, don't worry about it," he noticed aoi looking at the sky

"I think I see rain clouds,"

"It's fine. Let's just watch the sunset," he helped her stand up and hug her from behind

He waited until the perfect moment, but when he was about to get down on one knee, it started raining. aoi immediately ran and packed up the picnic before grabbing inosuke hand

"We need to go back,"

"Oh, alright,"

aoi dragged him away, down the hill into the woods

On their way, they found a tree that shielded them from the rain

"This isn't how I wanted tonight to go," insouke sighed

"I'm sorry it's not the best date," she apologised

"No, it's not your fault. Let's just go back," inosuke stepped into the rain and immediately fell into a muddy puddle

(and he wasn't wearing his boots, which we all know is a big no no)

"Inosuke, are you okay?!" Aoi rushed to his side and helped him up but ended up falling herself

"I'm so sorry. I should never have suggested this date. I'm sorry, Aoi," inosuke sighed he believed this was the universes way of telling him not to do it, so he decided not to

"It's not your fault, inosuke. It's the stupid weather,"

Inosuke sighed and stood up and helped Aoi up aswell it was still raining a lot, and they were soaking wet

Aoi noticed inosuke was sad, so she let him walk a head. She had an idea

"Inosuke, can you close your eyes for a minute?"

"Alright," he closed his eyes he assumed she was going to kiss him or something

But when she said open his eyes, he was shocked by what he saw

His girlfriend on one knee in front of him with her knee stuck in the mud,

"What are you doing princess?"

she held his hand and smiled

"Inosuke Hashibira, I love you with all my heart will you make me the happiest person on earth and finnaly marry me?"

Inosuke was completely shocked he never expected her to propose

He nearly started crying and picked her up

"Yes!"

Aoi kissed him hard. They were so in the kiss that inosuke fell onto his back into the mud

"I can't believe you proposed instead of me!" Inosuke laughed

"Well, I was waiting for you too, but when I assumed you weren't going to, I decided I needed to!" She sat up on his lap

He sat up and put his hand on her back ."I love you so much, princess,"he was lightly crying

"I never thought I'd make lord inosuke cry," she was also lightly crying she wiped her tears and kissed inosuke

They got up covered in mud and rushed back to the butterfly estate to get cleaned up

The next day, they told their friends what happened

They all found it funny that Aoi proposed, but we're happy for the couple

But they weren't as happy as inosuke and Aoi

Aoi, who used to be such a stuck-up person, proposed to an idiot while knealing on mud wearing a white dress

And inosuke the boar head wearing idiot who didn't know what love was until he met aoi

It was quite an unexpected romance~
