"wow," gracie whispered. "yeah, this'll work i think."
"think so?" charlotte asked, eyes filled with anticipation as her teeth buried into her lip.
"definitely."
gracie wrapped her arm around charlotte, hugging her tightly.
"alright, then let's get this shit sent," jude said, taking the laptop. "i'll get it done from here, you should take a break," he said to his twin.
"thanks jude," charlotte smiled softly and hopped off her seat.
"i'll order dinner, you guys have done enough hard work exposing your parents tonight," marcus said, pulling out his phone. "you all okay with sushi?"
_
charlotte could barely stay focused on the show playing in the living room. her head kept turning back to look at jude in the kitchen who was busy communicating back and forth with vanity fair. it wasn't easy being patient with this at all. the sooner this article gets out, the sooner things would've fixed with her parents — fingers crossed that is. part of her wishes she just went in a livestream and said everything there instead of waiting on this article to be anonymously posted, even though she'd probably face immense backlash for 'whining' online.
"professor," gracie mumbled to her, pulling out the nickname since she had now forced charlotte to put those damn glasses on.
"hm?"
"what do you keep looking over there for?"
"nothing just... i wish this would get done quicker," charlotte muttered. "this stupid show isn't that good of a distraction."
"hey, diss glee to my face like that again and i'm killing your cats," olivia glared from the other couch.
gracie's eyes trailed from charlottes eyes to her lips, "well if you want i can give you a better distraction later tonight," she whispered into charlottes ear, causing the actress's cheeks to go bright red.
"oh yeah?"
"yeah," gracie giggled with a smirk, leaning close to kiss charlotte lips for a shorter time than the other girl wanted. she pulled away and saw charlottes eyes greed for more. "you needa' work on being patient though," she rasped out, teasing her by letting her lips just brush against hers.
charlotte pouted, opening her mouth to speak but was interrupted by the doorbell ringing.
"finally," caleb said, ushering marcus up to go grab the food.
in almost an instant, gracie leaned away from charlotte, looking back down to the floor.
"hey me and caleb are gonna probably head out after dinner," sadie said. "olivia, want a lift?"
"nah, i'll go with matthew again i guess," olivia shyly replied.
charlotte snickered and looked over to see if gracie was catching on to her thoughts, but unfortunately, gracie's gaze was still uncomfortably set to the ground.
charlotte nudged her, "um, wanna stay another night, just us? maddie's said she's can feed rue and timber another day."
gracie perked her head back up, "yeah, yeah sounds good."
