Leah calmly looked at her body lying on the hospital bed.
Yes, her body. There was a nameboard which read Feng Liya.
Leah is now in the form of soul and she was floating above. She was expressionless as she looked at her haggard face on the bed.
She could've survived longer if she wanted to.
She was the richest person of the country. Growing up as an orphan and almost starving in streets to one of the wealthiest billionaires of the country, she had everything now wealth, money, power and whatnot.
But she didn't want to hold on any longer. It's not that she felt depressed or something went wrong with her life, but she was just bored.
Even though she worked hard for a long time with no rest, to achieve what she has today, when she actually reached the place, she didn't want it anymore.
It was boring, there was nothing challenging anymore.
She had no family, friends, lover or any attachments to the world.
That's why, when she realized she had a stomach cancer, instead of having a surgery and prolonging her life, she chose to give up and travel around the country.
She travelled for almost 2 months when she felt she couldn't hold out anymore.
She looked at Alex, her secretary.
Alex had red eyes as he stood beside his former boss, Leah.
'He must've already received the lawyer's call.' Leah wondered.
A small ball of light floated beside her. No one could see the ball, just like how they couldn't see her floating above.
If they could've they would've been too scared to even move. After all this is a normal world that believes in science.
"Host, please accept that contract." Came a voice cutting off her wandering thoughts.
Without even turning her head she knew it was the light ball that has been hovering around her from the moment she was hovering around her body.
"Who's your host?" asked Leah, her voice low and breezy to hear.
"You, of course. I already explained all the terms and conditions. It's obviously to your advantage. Why won't you accept it?" it asked mechanically.
Raising her eyebrows, "If it is beneficial? Am I supposed to accept it?" she asked humorlessly.
"Why not? You get to live in this world again. You can continue where you left of. We even give you gifts when you finish the missions. You can request anything money, wealth, powers." It reasoned.
"Do I look like a penniless and weak person?", she asked with some confusion laced in her voice as she watched her former secretary and the lawyer discussing about her assets.
"But which human doesn't want more? Isn't it better to have more of those things?" it asked, even though its voice sounded mechanical, Leah felt as if she could hear a tiny bit of confusion running through its... core data? Maybe.
Taking a seat on the table beside Alex, "But I don't need it, I'll wait for the grim reaper to come and fetch me for reincarnation."
She looked as the discussion moved to donating remaining money to government after 50% of it had been given to orphanages and 20% of her wealth to Alex.
"Host-"
"Shhhhh..." Leah stopped it.
