poetry

12 3 22

she sleeps

in my arms

throughout the night

(oh i never wanna see her cry)

her breath

now rapid

short and sprite

(oh i never wanna see her die)

on the outside there is beauty

but only pain looking in

her prose is only for me

after the stab of sin

there is poetry in the way she lies

(how i never wanna see her cry)

there is poetry in a wayward bride

(his anger is a sign of pride)

there is poetry that i don't wanna see wash away

but there's no poetry in the way she stays

her words

stab in every

little opening

(but i never wanna see her cry)

her countenance

wishful, thoughtful

never knowing

(oh i never wanna see her die)

and her eyes like a knife

never knowing its direction

she throws and she throws

nonchalant towards its infection

there is poetry in the way she lies

(how i never wanna see her cry)

there is poetry in a wayward bride

(his anger is a sign of pride)

there is poetry that i don't wanna see wash away

but there's no poetry in the way she stays

oh, and i know she'll never stay

i know she doesn't want me

oh i know she doesn't like this place

i know it's better this way

mmm, she is poetry

mmm, she's poetry

we love sapphic songs ❤️

anyway i love this one bc it's about the DISSONANCE. she HATES ME. she's AWFUL. she's EVIL. but she's pretty so i love her.

anyway the little parenthesis are like a claire rosinkranz type chorus whisper that plays. idk how else to explain it except through singing it but it's hard to bc it kinda overlaps w/ the verse before and after it. i might sing this one so you can get a feel for it, if i can find a decent recording site (good fucking luck to me lmao)
