A grim face looked down on me, the pinching my arm beginning to fade. I felt the pressure of someone sitting on my chest. They lent forward, pressing their palm to my throat. It became difficult to breathe. I wanted to push the person off but it felt as if my limbs were being weighed down. I shifted my eyes to see no one above me. My eyes fluttered closed as the weight on my body became heavier. My head rolled to the side and I opened my eyes again. I could see multiple faces staring at me through the window, some with a cold smile stretched across their face. As I smiled back, their faces curled up in disgust.
I close my eyes once again, seeing all those crying faces. Remembering that I cause those tears. Face after face. What I did makes people cringe thinking of it. I sat in court and received sickened glares. My name sends shivers up spines and twists stomachs.
I may be gone but my story will haunt the back of your mind forever. They might have watched me take my last breath, but that will never bring back what I've already taken from them.
My eyes snapped open and my vision began to blur. Maybe this is what they meant when they told me I'd pay for my sins.
