Epilogue

She acted so surprised while staring at me.

Hindi ba't ako ang pinunta niya dito? Did she think she can sneak inside without me knowing it?

I'm hella tired and had a bruise on my face. All I wanted is some peace and a quiet place.

Pinalabas ko ang maingay na babae ngunit nagpumilit siyang kwarto niya ito. Sa inis ko ay tumawag na ako ng security. I have no energy to deal with this right now.

"Nakapagdesisyon na ako. Ikaw ang magiging asawa ko."

I thought it was some joke to piss me off even more but it turns out, this girl was really looking forward to marrying me. Ilang beses kaming nagkita ng paulit-ulit at sa bawat pagkakataon na iyon ay hinahabol habol niya ako. She doesn't get embarrassed calling me 'hubby' in front of everyone.

She's delusional.

I usually don't allow anyone to act like this around me. Ayokong may sumusunod sa akin, ayokong may lumalapit o humahawak sa akin, at higit sa lahat, ayokong may makulit na kung ano-anong ginagawa upang makuha lang ang atensyon ko, but with Sab...I find it difficult to push her away.

Perhaps it's because she always stands by my side, no matter what. Kahit anong pagsusungit ko, kahit gaano karaming pagpapahirap gawin ko sa kanya, nanatili siya sa tabi ko. Walang reklamo. Walang sama ng loob. Sapat na sa kanya ang makita ako at tingnan ang mga mata niya ng ilang segundo.

How can someone be so kind and gentle? She's the complete opposite of me.

"Regalo ko nga pala." She handed me a small box wrapped in a red ribbon. Since I don't accept gifts from people I hardly know, I simply left without a word.

Ron followed me and persuaded me to have it, but because I had no intention of doing so, I told him and Lucas to have those freshly baked cookies in my place. Isa lang ang natikman ko dahil paubos na nila nang magutom ako.

"What was her name again?"

I had this weird feeling that I somehow knew her before our late encounters. It took me a while to figure out that she was my childhood friend. And as soon as I did, everything was totally different. It was like my whole world turned upside down.

I've been wanting to meet her again for years, to know how she's been and if she can still remember me. But oftentimes, I wouldn't have the time or courage to go back to the Philippines.

Sobrang tagal na no'n. Little Savannah might not still recall RJ.

It never occurred to me that she was already in front of me. Ever sicne I learned the truth, I found myself wanting to see her all the time. Para akong sabik na sabik na ipagpatuloy namin ang naudlot na pagkakaibigan namin. Pero na-realize ko rin kinalaunan na...gusto ko nga siya. This isn't just some longing for my friend.

I am in love with this crazy, loud woman.

Kaso kung kailan namang ako na ang nagkakainteres sa kanya, siya naman 'yung bigla na lang lumalayo sa akin. I couldn't understand why but I was determined to win her. And I did. She became my girlfriend and we overcame a lot of obstacles together.

Isa na lang ang problema ko ngayon, kung paano ko kukunin ang loob ng pamilya ni Sab. I was aware that it would be difficult to convince them of my worth, especially when they already had their eyes set on another man, a guy named Simeon.

He is the best choice in so many ways but I truly believe I am the right guy for Savannah.

We make each other strong and happy. Kailangan ko si Sab sa buhay ko. Siya lang ang nakakapagpasaya sa akin ng ganito. She taught me how to look a the brighter side of my life, and like a miracle, I even started socializing with a lot of people because of her help. Naging maayos ang lahat nang dumating siya. She makes everything better...
