I sat at my desk and looked over the paperwork

I sat at my desk and looked over the paperwork. The same person keeps making the same mistakes. I go out my job description to make sure the non-listening ass people don't get fired. The last person that made a simple ass mistake got fired for putting the wrong date, which caused us to cancel the meeting with another company. This so-called career does have a nigga stress every day. The only thing that excites me about this job is the check I get paid every week. I was interrupted by my phone ringing. I looked at the caller ID it was my older brother. He always judged me about the things I did in my life.

"Wuzzup," I said.

" Wuzzup, I was just calling to see what you were doing," Derrick said.

"I'm just working on some paperwork, and I was thinking about getting some to eat because a nigga skipped lunch," I said.

"Have you talked to Jada yet?" He asked.

" No, I didn't, She keeps calling my phone, but I have been too busy with my job to feed into her bullshit," I said.

I knew his buck teeth ass was calling to ask me about some damn Jada. His wife and Jada are friends; I already knew that shit was bound to happen.

"Why did you do girl like that? She's nice," He asked.

"Look, I already told Jada my intentions were before we even slept together. She was busy trying to make a nigga mad that she was messing with before me. So it's not my fault because I thought we were having fun," I said.

"Why can't you just find someone and settle down?" He asked.

"I have other problems to worry about than worrying about a relationship. I would rather have someone willing enough to play games than break someone's heart because I'm afraid of committing," I said.

See, I'm not a complete asshole. I have problems within myself that caused me to be an asshole. I love my brother dearly, and he wants the best for me, but he pisses me off sometimes.

"I understand. Just don't wait until it's too late." He said.

After having an unwanted conversation with Derrick, I decided to see if Zathura had other plans for Friday night. I needed a night without stress and having people jump at me about my life choices.

I decided to go to my mom's house after work. I instantly regretted it because my mom and Robert were showing PDA. They were in the kitchen feeding each other strawberries. I smiled at them because I remember the first time Robert came to the house, and I slammed the door in his face. I'm very overprotective of my mom, but he understood me.

"So Zathura, how's life been treating you lately?" Robert asked.

"I have nothing to complain about; I got promoted to a new position at my job," I said.

"That's good news, I'm proud of you," he said.

Robert was a surgeon, and he was very good at his job. He retired a couple of years ago, but he is pretty much wealthy. Robert started dealing with stock markets after his retirement. And now all he does is take my mom on trips.

"So Zathura, Are you talking to anybody you're interested in?" Mom asked.

I mentally sighed at that question because she always asked me that same question when we talked. Before I could respond to her unnecessary question, there was a knock at the door. I was glad that this awkward conversation was interrupted. Robert went to open the door. Only to see Noah Taylor , we had a little situation going on. He couldn't handle me being a little promiscuous, so I broke things off.

"Hey, Noah ," my mom said.

I sat at the kitchen table, confused about how they knew Noah; I continued to mind my business. I knew he was mad about our little situation. But I perfectly made it clear what my intentions were.

"Hey Zathura, it's nice seeing you again," he said with a tight grin."

"Hey Noah, nice to see you too," I said.

Noah and I continued our conversation on the way out, but he was doing most of the talking. I was listening, but I was too busy thinking about what I was about to eat tonight.

"Zathura, when are we going to link up again because you kind of left me hanging," he said with eye contact.

I chuckled loudly and maintained eye contact with him because if he thought that made me fold, he was mistaken. I walked closer to him, his back meeting against his car door. I watched as his breathing changed and smiled seductively.

"You couldn't handle me the first time Noah. But if you think you're ready for me again. You have my number. Call me, and I'll give you what you're asking for," I whispered in his ear.
