The Speedrun

"It's not a crush," I mumbled. "She was just a nice girl that I bumped into, and then we had lunch with."

"So a crush?" Jennie said again, and I glared at her.

"Yeah, and she wanted Chae's number!" Lisa said.

Jennie gasped, "Oh my god, no way!" The brunette cheered.

"Wait, but what if they're actually fans that just wanna use us," Jennie said disappointingly.

"Y/n didn't seem to recognize us at all, and neither did Xavier. She seemed really genuine in the conversations I had with her," I said truthfully, I don't know what it was about her, but I could tell she wasn't like that.

"Ooooo, Rosies defending her future wife already," Lisa teased me.

"Stop it, Lisa," I groaned again while I blushed.

"Well, are you sure Chae?" Jisoo asked me, I could tell she was just looking out for me.

"Yes," I said confidently. Maybe my feelings were a big part of defending her, but she did seem like a really chill person that I would like to get to know better. I just wish we could have chatted more in person. I'm glad Lisa was able to give her my number even though I didn't want to admit it.

"Okay then maybe you can try talking to her more," She insisted, I smiled at her giving her a thank you nonverbally.

"But anyway are you guys ready to head out to the Speedrun now?" Jisoo asked us.

"Yeah, let's go!" Lisa cheered as we all started to walk down to the room where the Speedrun would take place. 

We continued to make our way when I felt my phone buzz in my hand. I looked to see that I had gotten a text message. I checked it to find that it was from Y/n's number. A smile began to creep on my face right away.

Y/n

Y/n:

Hey Rosie, this is Y/n. I got your number from Lisa if you were wondering lol.

Since I have a little bit of free time, I just wanted to ask how the convention's going for you rn.

Me:

It's going great thanks for asking :) Me and Lisa were able to meet up with our other friends okay and are just hanging out.  How about you though, are you and Xavier still hanging out?

Y/n:

Actually, not at the moment, I'm just getting ready to meet some new people right now, so I'm off by myself at the moment, but I'm doing well. Thanks for asking to :))

Me:

That's great to hear! Are you nervous about meeting new people?

Y/n:

Yeah, I'm pretty nervous, but I think I'll be okay.

Me:

Don't worry, I'm sure they'll like you, you're a very nice person after all. You got this. I believe in you!  c:

Y/n:

Thank you, Rosie! That means a lot to me. Unfortunately, I have to end this conversation short tho cause I have to get to socializing right now, but thanks for chatting with me! I'll text you later, though, byeeee

Me:

Bye, Y/n, good luck!!!

"Chae, are you texting her right now?" Lisa interrupted me.

"I think she is! I can tell through her mask she's smiling!" Jennie added. 

"Stop it," I said as I buried my face in my hands. 

"Come on, let's go you three, we have to get inside now," Jisoo said. I didn't even notice we were at the doors of the arena already. I was too busy texting Y/n the whole time.

"Fine, but I'm not gonna stop teasing Chae," Lisa said.

The three of us walked to the front of the room to sit down in the V.I.P. section. But when we made our way to our seats, I noticed a guy that looked really familiar.

"Xavier! Is that you!" I heard Lisa say behind me.

"OH! YOU GUYS. ARE HERE. RIGHT NOW." He said weirdly which threw me off a bit.

"Yeah! These are our other friends, Jennie and Jisoo. Jennie, Jisoo, this is Xavier. The guy we met when Rosie bumped into Y/n," Lisa said, bringing the three together to meet.

"Nice to meet you," Jennie smiled at him, and Jisoo waved shyly at him.

"So is Y/n not with you?" Lisa asked.

"Uh no, uh not right now, at the moment," He said in an off tone again. I saw him grab his phone out of his pocket really quickly as he seemed to be texting someone in a panic.

"Are you okay, Xavier?" I asked him worriedly. Even if I did just meet him not to long ago, I wouldn't want anything bad to happen to him.

"Well, I guess you guys will find out," He sighed while putting his phone down and sitting down in his seat next to me.

"What?" Lisa asked, confused. We all looked just as dumbfounded.

But before we were able to ask him anything else, the lights started to dim as an announcer spoke up in the speakers. I sat down in my seat, Xavier to my left and the girls to my right.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the Resident Evil 4 Remake speedrun." The announcer spoke from the stage.

"Now, for the moment you've all been waiting for everyone, Please welcome Tempest!" As soon as he said that, everyone started screaming.

But as soon as I saw who walked onto the stage, I thought my mind was playing tricks on me.

"Y/N?" I whispered to myself.

Haha, I'm guessing most of you guys saw this coming lol. Whats up tho, how you guys doing? :). Sorry for the long wait and short chapter😭
