Cat Noir x Reader (Stuck In Between)

"Cat Noir, you take care of Ivan! Ladybug, throw me the parachute! I'll get Mylene while you get the akuma!" I shouted.

"Cataclysm!" He used his ability on one of the beams of the tower. It fell outwards. but was still attached at the bottom. Cat hung from the beam and grabbed Ivan midair. Again, my hair stood on end, and I reached my arm out and caught the parachute. I quickly slipped it over my arms and dove off the side of the tower. I grabbed Mylene and pulled the cord just in time. We landed on the ground safely, Ladybug following closely behind. I removed the parachute and handed it to her. She tapped the yo-yo and a purified akuma flew out.

"Bye-bye little butterfly," she said. She them threw the parachute into the air shouting, "Miraculous Ladybug!" The parachute turned into read and black spotted butterflies that flew around with a pink glow and repaired everything the akumatized victims had destroyed. I spun around in awe. Looking at the beautiful scene before me.

"Woah. Are you seeing what I'm seeing?" I breathed out.

"Yeah. It's beautiful and amazing. It's, uh, miraculous!" Ladybug cheered.

Cat Noir and I watched as Ladybug talked to Ivan and Mylene before she joined us. We watched from a distance as Mylene suddenly hugged Ivan, causing him to blush.

"They're so made for each other," I said with a soft smile.

"Like us two," Cat Noir said while throwing an arm around my shoulders and giving me a wink. I smirked and rolled my eyes playfully. My bracelet started to beep, signaling I was almost out of time.

"Sorry, Kitty. Gotta go. Try a better pick up line next time and maybe you'll win me over!" I shouted over my shoulder as I flew through the air. I landed safely inside my bedroom right before my time ran out.

Nya appeared in front of me, looking quite smug. "So... What was that between you and Cat Noir?" She teased.

I smiled innocently and replied, "I have no idea what you're talking about." Before she could say anything else, I popped open a bag of chips and held it out for her. She happily took the bribe to change the subject and dove into the bag. Besides, there was nothing to talk about. Cat Noir is quite a flirtatious guy. I was only playing along.

The next day at school...

"So, by the time I bike to the Eiffel Tower, it was all over. I'm way bummed," Alya groaned. She had just finished telling Marinette and me about how she missed the fight with Stone Heart.

"Don't worry, you'll get your scoop eventually," Marinette reassured.

"You're right," Alya agreed, "Next target, Ladybug. An exclusive interview."

"Ooh, sounds exciting," I comment.

"Oh, wait, even better. Finding out who's really under that mask," Alya continued.

"Uh-huh. Good luck with that one," Marinette retorted.

I saw a silver car with tinted windows pull up, and I immediately recognized it as one of the Agreste's cars.

"Hey, I'll catch up. I'm gonna wait for Adrien," I told the girls. They nodded and walked ahead while I stayed planted in my spot. After a moment, the door burst open, and Adrien came running out. He had an excited smile on his face. "Hey, you made it another day! Your dad agreed?" I asked.

"Yeah! I can't believe it either!" He exclaimed. I smiled at him as he rambled about how happy he was to be at school. I was happy for him. He's always done what his dad wanted, and now he finally gets to do something for himself.

We walked into class together. I looked towards my normal seat and saw that Chloe and Sabrina were now sitting there. My brows furrowed in confusion, I turned to their usual seats and saw Alya and Marinette sitting there. I smiled at them proudly and confidently slid into the seat next to them. "Oh my gosh, you should have seen it! Marinette totally put Chloe in her place!" Alya explained.

"I can't believe I missed that!" I whined but was still happy that Marinette stood up to Chloe.

At home that night...

I tossed and turned in my bed, it was raining heavily outside, which normally lulls me to sleep. But tonight, I couldn't seem to stop thinking about a certain superhero.

I rolled over for the 3rd time in 5 minutes, and apparently, Nya had had enough. "What's up with you? You normally fall right to sleep," she asks.

I laid on my back and let out a heavy sigh before turning to face my kwami. "I just... I can't stop thinking about Cat Noir's arm around me. The more I think about it, the more my stomach flutters. He's just so... selfless. He pushed me out of the way when Stone Heart was about to grab me. I don't know. Maybe I'm just thinking like this because he saved me," I rambled.

Nya giggled slightly and responded, "Well, it's okay if you do have feelings for Cat Noir. In fact, I think that unity and destruction are quite a good pair."

"How so?" I asked, unsure of what she meant.

"Creation and destruction are totally opposite, which is why the miraculous of unity is so important. You are a balance to both of them. And I've come to notice that most of the holders of the cat ring act before they think and can be reckless. They think more with their heart than their head. It's important to follow your heart, but it's just as important to keep a level head. You are the in between of head and heart. You balance out the strong-willed power of destruction and make it a useful tool instead of an uncontrollable force. It's easy for you to reason with Cat Noir because you can understand where his heart's at, but you also understand the importance of patience and are able to bring the two together to work as a team."

I felt absolutely mind-blown by this new information. I now understand just how important my role as a miraculous holder is. And I also feel more at peace with the fact that I possibly have feelings for Cat Noir. "Thank you, Nya. I feel much better now," I said. She nuzzled against my cheek with affection, causing me to laugh slightly.

"You're welcome, Y/N. Now, get some sleep. You never know when Paris will need its heroes."
