As you and Sonic arrive at a palm tree, also known as the Great Green, the heart of the jungle. You could clearly notice from afar that the tree was wilting. You could feel your heart shrink while running seeing the poor sight.

While you were busy thinking about the plant's health, you notice Sonic pass by you in a flash then in a blink of an eye, he was standing next to the tree.

"I win." Sonic winked at you while leaning against the tree trunk. You stop your track and softly smiled. "Yeah, whatever." You rolled your eyes as you approach the tree. You also noticed that Thorn's presence was nowhere to be seen. You must've arrived first.

Sonic just chuckles at his victory before noticing the atmosphere looked more dull and darker than usual. His head tilt up and notice how wilted the tree was. He let out a surprised sigh before taking steps back to take a better view of the tree's condition.

He stood next to you, looking at the tree. "What happened?"

You gulped, "The lack of sunlight."

Sonic quickly understood what you meant. He remembered something back in his universe where Amy would tell him how to take care of plants. How plants needed water, sunlight, and oxygen to grow healthy yada yada yada.

Surprisingly, Knuckles also took an interest in taking care of plants. Amy would give out a pot of dirt that had a certain seed planted inside.

Everyone was in charge to take care of the plant till it grows into a spout. Sonic remembered 'his' plant was in his backyard, who knows if it's still alive? He felt slightly guilty after remembering it.

You turn your head towards him, tilting your head a bit. "Do you know how plants work?"

Sonic stood silent. He was a bit taken aback by your sudden pop quiz. His shoulder tenses up a bit while he looks around to remember. Speaking out nonsense would probably be a bad choice of words. So instead he went with, "Uh yeah! Of course!"

You took notice of his unsure and worried look. You couldn't help but smile cheekily. You approach him in a paced motion. "Oh really? Then explain to me."

The blue hedgehog took a step back as he notice you standing close to his figure. He chuckled nervously while his eyes wander around but not even taking a second to look at you in the eyes caused by anxiousness.

"I uh, well- Because the plants, they..." It's not that Sonic doesn't know the answer, but the pressure and tension you were putting him on made him bluffer.

"Hmmm?" You lean in closer to his face. You couldn't help but tease him a little. You were intrigued by what other reactions you could get from him just by one step.

Sonic's mind begins to wander about your action while his body was trying to comprehend what you were doing to him. He thought you were about to lean in for that.

"Eer.." Sonic hissed, leaning his head back, avoiding eye contact with you. You could see bright pink blush spread across his cheek. "It happens because..." He shuts his eyes, bracing himself.

You chuckle, "Photosynthesis." You lift your hand and flicked his nose. You pull yourself back, giving him some space. You cross your arms while a wide smirk was plastered on your face. Amused by his reaction.

Sonic no longer felt your breath on his face which made him open his eyes. He looks at you who was smirking and he scoffed, "I knew that."

You roll your eyes and shake your head. "Sure" Then you turn back to the tree. You noticed how the tree's leaves were blocking the sunlight.
