She taps out a long message assuring Heeseung that she is, indeed, not dead. (Feels pretty damn close to it, though.) She also briefly recounts her past day - not forgetting to add the fact that the school only sort of resembles Downton Abbey to satisfy his curiosity - and the nap that rendered her off-grid for much longer than intended. About 12 hours longer, to be precise.
She guesses he's currently busy, seeing as her message has been left on Delivered for the last few minutes. So after steeling her nerves, she swipes out of their chat and dares to peek at her mother's smaller - yet all the more deadly - pile of notifications.

͏͏͏͏͏͏⠀⠀Sujin grimaces as she presses the daunting call button, dial tone immediately coming to life and menacingly echoing off the walls of the empty dorm room as she waits. She silently chants in her head, please don't be too pissed... please don't be too pissed... please don't be too-
"About damn time!"
So much for wishful thinking.
The sheer volume of her mother's howl has her head instinctively jerking away from the speaker with a wince.
"Where on Earth have you been, young lady?!"
"Ah," Sujin croaks out sheepishly, "Good morning, Mom."
"It's 7pm here." Juliette snaps humorlessly, "Your father and I have been trying to get a hold of you for the last day! No calls, no texts - you could have been at the bottom of the ocean floor for all we knew!"
Sujin huffs, "Trust me, I wish I was." Her mother doesn't offer her the relief of even the slightest chuckle at that. Sujin rolls her eyes, "I'm at Darisan, Mom, I swear. Yesterday was just a shi-" She coughs, recovering quickly enough to avoid another scolding, "- busy day. A very busy day, alright? I got caught up in a bunch of introductory stuff and barely touched my phone all afternoon... I'm sorry."
