Start from the beginning

Sujin manages a half-hearted "Thanks," as she brushes past the girl, eager to splash her face with a dousing of cold water.

"I was going to wake you up for dinner last night," Sora adds, trailing along behind her, "But I walked in and you looked so... I don't know. Calm." She shrugs lightly, "It felt wrong to disturb you, y'know?"

Sujin appreciates the gesture, though she'd never admit it aloud. Instead, she stops patting her face dry to eye the other girl warily through a gap in the towel.

"You were watching me sleep?"

"Oh! Uh- Um- I-" Sora awkwardly stumbles over her words, "I didn't mean to- I was just-"

And, as if by the will of some forgiving deity, her scattered word vomit is interrupted by an embarrassingly loud grumble that emits from Sujin's empty stomach.

Nice one.

Sora clears her throat and regains her composure with a small smile, "Hungry?"

"Shut up." Sujin murmurs, masking a blush under the towel.

"Well, I was just about to step out for lunch with a friend. Wanna tag along?" Sora offers, "I'll pay!"

Sujin sighs. Nishimura Sora seems like a nice enough girl. A little too happy-go-lucky for her personal taste, yet nice enough all the same. But Sujin didn't come to Darisan to be all buddy-buddy with everyone and, in all honesty, the mere thought of human contact right now is enough to make her head come close to exploding.

So she declines. Again.

Sora purses her lips. God, this girl is so stubborn, she thinks to herself frustratedly.

"Alright, then." She scoops her phone from her bed decidedly, "See you later."

"Bye." Sujin replies quietly. She almost entertains the idea of adding an extra 'Have a good lunch!', but Sora is already through the door and out of sight before she can even start to form the words.

Sujin shakes off the strange, achy feeling it gives her with a glare in the mirror.

Don't get caught up in things that don't matter, she reminds herself sternly before turning on her heels and commencing a search for her phone. She rummages around her now-tangled sheets with a huff, already preparing a wince for the number of missed calls and messages she's sure to be greeted with after being knocked out for almost an entire day.

Sure enough, as soon as she fishes the device from the mountain of wrinkled linen before her, the screen lights up with a seemingly never ending stream of notifications. Most of which are from either Heeseung, or her mother - which comes as no surprise.

Sujin opts to open her best friend's notifications first - also to no surprise.
