*Dan's POV*

I had finally finished unpacking my belongings a little before 2 o'clock and decided to hang out with a couple of my friends that were living down the hall. Right now I'm heading back to my dorm, and I can't explain how excited I am to meet my roommate for the year. As I make my way into the room I stop dead in my tracks at the sight of the beautiful boy in front of me. He only took one glance up before looking directly back down at his laptop screen. His eyes entrancing even in the fleeting moment they were seen. He seems so small and quiet even with his height (which is only slightly shorter than my 6' 3" stature), but I am determined to break him out of his shell. I want to know everything about this kid. It was at this moment I realized how weird and awkward it must look to see me standing in the doorway so long, so I slowly shuffle my feet across the wooden floor until I make it to my bed and plop myself down.

"Hi." I said, my voice coming out as no more than a whisper.

It wasn't until then that he shut his laptop and looked into my eyes. It should be a crime for someone that attractive to be so held back. When he said hello at the same volume I had greeted him with I noticed his northern accent. It isn't totally unusual for different english accents to be mixed in at this school, but it's been a while since I have heard that northern tone.

"I-I'm Dan." I stuttered out

"Phil" he said, just as quietly as his first words to me

"Well tell me about yourself Phil." I said with a warm smile

"Um..... I mean there isn't much to tell. I have an older brother that goes here as well. I also just realized you probably never really wanted to know anything about me in the first place. You were just being nice. I'll go back to what I was doing." When he finished speaking I took note of the fact that he only talked about his family. He didn't mention a single thing about himself personally. The uncertainty in his voice and the way he doubted my interest so quickly just made me more curious.

"I didn't just do it to be nice I genuinely wanted to know. You seem interesting, and if we are going to be rooming together for the entire year we should probably know a bit about each other. It would be nice to get along with the person I'm sharing a space with."

"You don't have to lie I get it" and with that he was getting up and walking out of the room.
