PROLOGUE.

Meg rushed as she shut her bedroom door and fixed her glasses, and sat on her floral bedsheets as her hands shook looking at the envelope in her hands

to anybody it would seem like a regular old letter but to her, it was her Harvard letter. As her fingers shook she delicately opened the envelope and pulled out the letter that could seal her fate, as she opened the letter as she read along the lines of the words

Dear Mrs. Griffin

i am delighted to inform you-

That was all meg had to read before jumping up in joy, she had gotten accepted in the Harvard. she's practically set for life, The only problem now was

She had to tell her family...

Meg didn't smile as her family chatted about their day, she had lost practically all the love for them mostly her father after all these years of constant abuse & her mother not sticking up for her through any of it. All over her family mostly let the mental & physical abuse her father gave her to continue, the funny thing to her was that none of her brothers stewie or chris got beaten or berated by their father, it was just her all these years

as meg breathed in a sigh as she was going to begin to speak she could feel her father roll his eyes in a annoyed way, but this time she wasn't gonna let herself be interrupted like previous times. "So- uhm, I got into harvard" she spoke as she felt her heartbeat get as loud as a fire alarm, she could feel her whole family staring at her with shocked faces. if her family knew her well enough they'd know she'd been waiting for this letter since november & it now being the 16th of December

"m-meg that's great, my baby girl is going to harvard!!" she heard her ginger-headed mother speak joyfully even though it sounded forced, 'yeah if you actually fucking cared about me & listened you'd know I've been keeping my grades up and been doing extra credit to get into harvard to be set for life, unlike you who is a stay at home housewife who's husband is a child-beater.' she thought as she chewed a piece of Salisbury steak. "You know it's great because i heard harvard accepted homeschooler's-" meg quickly cuts her mother off abruptly "I rented a car and packed my stuff already, I just thought I'd tell you guys where I was going." her family look flabbergasted even the family's dog Brian who could oddly speak

"oh, well uhm- good trip?" her father peter laughed seemingly not caring at all about his daughter going to harvard & moving out, "okay, then i guess I'll go" meg sat up out of the dining chair and grabbed her coat from the coat-hanger by the door and slipped it on and her white sneakers, "m-meg you don't have to leave- your dad was only joking!!" Lois said as she smiled awkwardly "I'm leaving for harvard, and because I can't put up with this bullshit anymore that you call a family" she yelled at her family and continued "you can be there for stewie and Chris but when it comes to me? I'm nothing, when I was in the hospital because i almost ended my own life, who was there. Nobody!! Not dad or you, or chris, nobody is ever there! all I wanted was a lousy letter or a call while i sat in that hospital bed, I have had to put up with all this physical and mental abuse that was caused by someone who is supposed to be my father" This was her breaking point she has had enough, before meg walked out the front door she took one last look at the people she called family. Atleast not anymore, Before walking out the door and into the pouring rain into the car and driving off and taking one last thought

She finally found the courage & opportunity to leave that fucked up place behind

one year later...

meg was happier, her hair had grown a lot, she had all A's in class. boys liked her now, even girls

as she walked in her dorm and talked to her roommate raine "did you do the book report yet?" Raine asked nervously, she was never good at reading at all "not yet, but I promise I'll do it and let you copy a bit off of me okay? meg laughed as she sat down on her bed

"Are you going to Jeremy's party tonight, megan? I heard Jamie would be there" Raine wiggles her eyebrows at the word Jamie knowing about megs obsession with her, "r-really? Is it like a themed party or something?" she asked. Raine thought for a moment before speaking again "not really, i don't think so? I have to go to the bathroom though so I'll be back!!" the girl said before walking out of the small dorm and out of the door

Meg smiles as she thinks about jamie, her fluffy brown hair, and blue eyes that had such a story behind them that she was eager to find out, and her freckles...

her thoughts we're quickly interrupted by her phone ringing, as she looked down it was a unknown number. Logically meg never answered the phone the unknown numbers but she felt something about this and pressed the green answer button on her cellphone and put it to her ear

"Hello? Who is this?"

"Meg? it's me- if you remember...it's me your mother. Lois, your fathers been murdered"

Meg could feel the world stop around her at that moment
