Chapter 26 - First Game

Start from the beginning

Nemina pats her arm and points towards me. I motion for her to quickly come down here. I use the excuse of drinking water to talk to her as she hurriedly makes her way down to me.

She bumps into a random freshman before continuing on her path.

"Hey Z." I smile and kiss her forehead in front of the whole school.

"Hey Mateo. You look real good out there. I think the hockey boys have some competition this year." She teases and wraps her arms around me.

"The puck heads were never competition baby." I snort and glance down at her.

She's wearing my other basketball jersey, her hairs styled to perfection, and her jeans hug her tightly, showing off her perfect ass.

"God you look great." I peck her lips and slide my hands down to her waist.

"Valdez get in here!" Coach yells form the bench.

"Shit gotta go." I roll my eyes and kiss her again.

"Okay bye, good luck." She steps back almost unwillingly.

"Don't need it when you're here." I wink at her then jog back to the line.

The lines almost been through the whole formation while I was talking to Zaya. Gotta keep my priorities straight.

"Whipped as fuck." Oliver tells me straight up with a smile. His braces peek through his two toned lips.

"Yea whatever." I roll my eyes at him and pat his shoulder as I join Neil at the end of the line.

"Hey man." Neil greets me with a small smile.

Everyone's pumped for the first game. Adrenaline fills the air as the song switches. The team decides it's time for a new drill and we start going for lay up's while some stretch.

Coach is barking out orders while everyone starts to loosen up as the clock counts down.

Zaya keeps catching my eye and I get nervous every time. My girls going to see me play.

My moms running late because of her bakery and the bank. Nothing to worry about according to her though.

Someone shoulder checks me from the other team as I'm stretching.

"Keep that shit on the court." I tell number three who gives me a glare and turns back around.

"Jackass." I mutter under my breath and continue.

The clock shows three minutes left so we all gather around coach for the first play.

"Alright boys listen up, I need you to put your all in the game. Pace yourself through it alright?" He asks us.

"Got it coach." Some of us say.

We break and the starters go out to the court to finish getting ready.

I'm one of the starters so I join the cap, freshman, and Oliver along with other guys on the court.

"Who's going for the ball right away?" I ask, jogging to the middle of the court with them.
