"What else are best friends for?"

"You make it incredibly hard to actually miss you, y'know that?" She grumbles lightheartedly, "Keep up this attitude and I may never come back."

"Ha!" Heeseung scoffs, "Tight bluff. You're telling me you'd pick a bunch of daddy's-credit-card-munchers over me?"

"Who knows? Big perks with big bank accounts, you know what they say." Sujin muses with a sarcastic chuckle, "Not. I'm already counting down the seconds before this whole thing is over and I can forget it ever even happened."

"Yeah, right. You're gone for - what? Half a year?"

"5 months, 3 weeks and 4 days." She recites without skipping a beat, "Well, technically 3 days now. And 11 hours."

"You're insane." Heeseung deadpans.

"Thank you."

He rolls his eyes at her antics, "So? What's the game plan, then?"

"Game plan?"

"You don't seriously expect me to believe you're going to just sit through the entire semester without anything up your sleeve."

Sujin raises a brow, "Now you sound like my mother."

"Not cool." Heeseung sulks, lips still subconsciously forming into an exaggerated pout even though the girl isn't there to see the expression, "But really, though. No batshit-crazy-but-just-might-work, grand Sujin-esque escape plan this time?"

"Mm... I'm working on it." She toys with the zipper of her suitcase, "It's a little hard trying to escape when I'm on a whole other continent, y'know."

"Touché."

"I'll figure it out eventually." She continues, more so trying to convince herself of the fact rather than anyone else, "I do know one thing though - I am not about to make this a walk in the park for those suckers."

Heeseung's ears perk up in intrigue, "'Those suckers' being..."

"Everyone." Sujin replies immediately, "Mom, Dad... everyone at this stupid new school." She rises to her feet, straightening her posture with a newfound decisiveness, "They want to paint me out to be some kind of uncontrollable bitch? I'll show them an uncontrollable bitch."

Yeah, the girl muses to herself with a sly grin, that's more like it... Mom might've won the battle, but I've got the war.

She hears the faint sound of Heeseung shaking his head at her words. "Anyone ever tell you how stubborn you are?" He chuckles.

"Nope!" She lies, popping the 'P' for added effect.

"Uh huh. Whatever you say..." He drawls, entirely unconvinced.

Sujin hears muffled shouts on the other end of the line, followed by Heeseung shuffling around his room for a few seconds.

"Shit. I've gotta go," He states apologetically, "Duty calls, or whatever."

And she can tell by the wry tinge in his voice that it probably has something to do with his parents.
