(Honesty and Kumar)

Realized I never gave Kumar a face reveal so here he is

"Was good sis" Kumar said as he walked in my bedroom while I was just laying down.

"Hey" I said.

Although he's my step brother, I take the "step" out all the time. This is my brother. I don't care.

"You good?" He asked sitting on the edge of my bed.

"Yep. Why?" I said grabbing my little basketball and tossing it up, catching it, and repeating the same cycle.

Oh, I'm a basketball player. I play for the girls' team at my school. I plan on going to the big league, doing it when I go off to college and then professionally.

"Well I know today marks 12 years.." Kumar said.

I looked at him for a second before reverting my attention back to the ball, tossing it up.

12 years since my father committed suicide.

I don't really know how to feel. I never do, each year that goes by.

So it's just another day to me.

"I'm good" I said.

"You sure?" Kumar asked me.

"Yeah. I don't care." I said.

"Don't say that" Kumar said.

I shrugged and said "I don't."

"Well.. Regardless, I'm here if you need me aight?" Kumar said.

"I know, thank you" I said with a smile as I nudged him and he smiled too.

"Did you talk to your dad?" I asked him.

"Yeah. First, I showed him these" Kumar said showing me his tats.

I'm a year older than Kumar. He's 15, I'm 16 but he definitely be acting grown. He went off and got tattoos without telling Kamal or his mom Skylar.

"Was he mad?" I asked.
