Kai added, "When you came here, it was our turn for duty, so we were just doing our rounds, making sure everything was secure."
Beomgyu nodded, absorbing the information. It made sense that there would be a system in place to ensure the safety of the area, especially considering the kind of world they lived in.
Soobin's eyes widened as he suddenly realized he hadn't offered anything to eat or drink to Beomgyu. "Shit, I didn't even ask if you wanted to eat something," he exclaimed, feeling a bit embarrassed by the oversight.
Beomgyu chuckled softly, shaking his head. "It's alright," he replied. "I had something to eat before I went out."
Kai chimed in with a mischievous grin. "But Soobin here is a great cook," he said, nudging his partner playfully. "So, if you're ever hungry, just come over to our place. He'll whip up something amazing."
Soobin rolled his eyes but couldn't hide a small smile. "Don't listen to him," he said, feigning annoyance. "But seriously, you're welcome anytime. Just let us know."
Beomgyu nodded gratefully, appreciating their offer. "Thanks, I might take you up on that sometime," he said, feeling a sense of warmth from their genuine kindness.
Beomgyu couldn't help but feel a twinge of jealousy as he observed the close bond between Soobin and Kai. They seemed to understand each other effortlessly, sharing a camaraderie that he longed for. While they exchanged warm smiles and laughter, Beomgyu was all too familiar with the cold and biting remarks that Yeonjun often directed his way.
However, he also knew that Yeonjun was not the type to offer kindness or understanding easily. Their relationship was based on hierarchy and the cold exchange of orders. It was a stark contrast to the warmth and camaraderie he witnessed in Soobin and Kai's interactions.
"So, how's it? Like living with Yeonjun?" Soobin asked Beomgyu out of his own curiosity. He was expecting details.
Beomgyu hesitated for a moment, trying to find the right words to describe his experience. "He's not at home mostly" he replied honestly. "And he doesn't likes to eat at home... that's what i noticed"
Soobin raised an eyebrow, intrigued by Beomgyu's response. "Really? He's hardly at home?" he asked, not really surprised by this revelation.
Beomgyu nodded. "Yeah, it seems like he's always out on some mission or training or something," he explained. "And when he is home, he usually keeps to himself or goes straight to his bed. We hardly talk, and he's not very approachable."
Soobin listened attentively, noting the disappointment in Beomgyu's voice. "That must be tough," he said sympathetically. "Living with someone like that can't be easy."
Beomgyu shrugged, trying to downplay his feelings. "I'm getting used to it," he said, though the sadness in his eyes betrayed his attempt to appear unaffected.
Soobin could sense that there was more to Beomgyu's story, but he didn't want to pry too much. Instead, he changed the subject. "Well, if you ever need someone to talk to or hang out with, you can always come to our place," he said with a warm smile. "Kai and I are always up for some company."
Beomgyu appreciated Soobin's offer and genuine kindness. "Thanks," he replied, a small smile forming on his lips.
As they continued their conversation, Beomgyu felt a sense of relief knowing that he had found at least a couple of people who were willing to befriend him in this strange and unfamiliar world. But the disappointment of not being able to get along with yeonjun was still there.

Yeonjun walked back home, unable to shake Beomgyu's presence from his mind. It was an unusual feeling for him, having someone constantly on his thoughts. He could picture Beomgyu sitting in some corner, those irritatingly pretty eyes fixed on him. As he reached the door, he hesitated for a moment, a mix of anticipation and uncertainty welling up within him. But when he stepped inside, Beomgyu was nowhere to be seen.
