(F/n) opened her locker, grabbing her white lab coat. Shrugging it on, she then stared at her reflection on the nearby mirror.
" Wow look at you (F/n), you look like a true scientist." She thought to herself as she straightened out her coat.
It had only been a week since she started working in the genetics department in Alchemax. She was glad that she was able to settle in quite comfortably. Well, not really. There were some bumps on the way, including her intimidating boss.
(F/n) shifted uncomfortably in her seat as she watched her boss busily scan the piles of documents on his table. Her (e/c) eyes started scanning her surroundings, trying to put her mind at ease.
Based on what she heard from her co-workers, he is quite strict in the workplace. He was like the man of steel when it came to passing your report on time.
'Despite that, Mr. O'Hara's looks are out of this world. I would faint from both terror and awe if he's beside me.' The words of her girl co-worker echoed in her head.
She looked over to her boss once again, silently observing his features. His sharp jaw-line, the waviness of his seemingly soft brown hair, his warm brown eyes.
She felt the heat travel to her cheeks as she averted her eyes. The embarrassment kicking in after realizing that what she had done was quite inappropriate.
" Ms (L/n)," he gruffed.
" Yes, sir?" The girl shot her head up towards his direction.
"Since you're still new, I'll let you handle arranging the incoming samples that will be arriving today." He placed down the documents, shooting her a look of seriousness. " Make sure to not break any of them or else the company might charge you for it."
" Y-yes sir. I'll make sure to be extra careful when dealing with the samples. " (F/n) stammered.
The air between the two then became deadly silent.
Mr. O'Hara continued to stare at her, his brown eyes seeming to stare deep into her soul.
'I wanna go home...' (F/n) thought to herself as she awkwardly cleared her throat.
" Sir, If there are no more further instructions, May I take my leave?" She asked, sweat breaking out on her forehead.
"If you don't mind me asking... " He paused, contemplating his choice of words. "Did you meet the company president?"
A wave of confusion washed over the girl upon hearing his question.
"No sir..." her voice trailed off.
"I see-" he cleared his throat then proceeded to pick up the remaining unread documents-" You may leave."
The locker squeaked loudly as she shut it close. For days, she has pondered on that question of his. It seemed like there's something more to it than what meets the eye.
(F/n) took out a fresh pair of rubber gloves before wearing them on her hands. She then took one last glance at her reflection, making sure that she had followed the company's uniform policies. With a deep sigh, she walked out of the locker room. Another tiring working day has begun.
—----
" Hey (F/n), if you're not busy can you look at these?" Kaye, one of the girl co-workers, politely asked as she motioned towards the microscope.
"Sure, just let me clean up my space a bit." (F/n) carefully segregated the remaining test tubes from her desk to multiple wooden boxes.
The girl swiftly walked over to Kaye's direction. With one eye closed, she then peeped through the microscope.
