Chapter twenty-three

"What happened with Trey? Did you ever tell him before he left?" Caydence changed the subject. Although Bree denied the idea numerous times, Caydence knew she had feelings for Trey. She encouraged Bree to speak up in order to not be jealous of him with another woman and not be so obsessive if he liked her back or not.

Once you get your answer, you know how to move better accordingly.

Kambree covered her mouth, laughing under her breath "Girl, you gonna think I'm so childish. I wrote him a note and put it in his suitcase," She said, making Caydence burst out laughing "I just couldn't do it, Cay. I felt like I was going to chicken out if I had to do it face-to-face. I couldn't even master my words seriously without writing them down," She elaborated, joining in the laughter.

Caydence chuckled and shook her head "Girl, I recommend that shit. I'on care, writing notes is the best way of communication. Especially for people who have a hard time vocally expressing themselves," She expressed. In her opinion, she didn't believe Kambree had anything to worry about pertaining to Trey's feelings being mutual.

At least she hoped, Cay couldn't take the men beside Ro and Dee seriously anymore.

"What if he comes back and acts like he didn't see it?" Kambree pinched her arched eyebrows together in question.

Caydence carelessly shrugged "Then you move forward and find better," She answered as if it was an obvious question.

Bree playfully rolled her eyes at her friend "Everyone isn't so nonchalant like you Cay," She chuckled.

Cay shook her head "It's not about being nonchalant, it's about moving forward because you just going to look stupid obsessing over someone thats not interested in you. You're better than that and have so much to offer–mainly to yourself. Life doesn't stop, you keep going until you find your person," She lectured "I'm not saying you're going to move on and find the right person in the snap of the finger–but that person will come. You can't force it you know? If Trey is your person, the feeling will be mutual. If he isn't, it's someone out there that is," She furthermore added.

She understands the feeling of rejection. It hurts–yes but you don't ponder obsessively about it. You move on because being dumb about a man isn't a choice. Kambree is so beautiful, every time they all go out–a man is always trying to get her Instagram or number.

"I hate rejection, it's going to be awkward in the house afterward," An exhaling sigh escaped her lips. "Ima have a countdown for the day he moves out," Bree joked provoking Caydence to chuckle.

Caydence nodded her head in agreement "It sucks but it also builds character," She busted out laughing provoking Bree to join in "My granny always said, what one man won't do–twenty other niggas will–TRUST," She stuck her tongue out, snapping her finger in a circle.

"I know dats fuckin' right," Bree giggled, briefly glancing over to the side after catching a male figure strolling towards the bar. "Didn't he used to come see you?" Her head briefly nodded in a direction. Caydence's eyes followed in the direction, seeing BJ approaching them with an expression of shock displayed over his face.

Caydence's eyes grazed Bj's muscular figure upwards and downward as he only smiled at her. She couldn't lie, he was very handsome. His walnut-brown skin glowed a bit in the dim LED blue lights as he stood 6'4 height. He dressed casually in the basic black–ripped jeans with teeth & stars-printed graphic tee shirt. His toned arms were covered with tattoo art but she couldn't keep her eyes from his hair.
