"Okay, one beef bowl and one miso bowl. Is that all?" The waiter asked.

"Yeah, that's it. Thank you." San said.

"Thank you." I said.

"Okay, I'll be back with your food in a bit." The waiter said. We handed the waiter out menus, and they walked back to the kitchen.

"Have you been here before?" I asked.

"A few times. I've never brought anyone before." San said, looking at me softly. The butterflies in my stomach returned again.

I'm the only person he's shower this place... it makes me feel special.

"Do you like it here?" San asked.

"I do. The food smells really good, and it's really comforting here." I said, looking around with a small smile.

The restaurant had brick walls and gentle lighting. The wood floors are a  light brown.

"That's one of the reasons I love it here. I feel so comfortable. I love coming here when it's raining." San and I stared in each others eyes while smiling. My heart was beating so loud I worried he could hear it.

"Okay, here's the beef bowl and the miso bowl. Please enjoy." The waiters' sudden arrival made us both jump.

"Thank you." San said.

I took the soup spoon and scooped some up. Gently blowing on it a few times, I tried it.

"Wow, that tastes amazing." I said, smiling at San. He smiled back. We both started eating.

"How did you find this place?" I asked.

"I had a bad day once. I felt really crappy and just wanted something good to eat. I remembered this place from an ad I saw, so i decided to check it out. Now it's my favorite place. " San said, taking another bite of ramen.

"At least someone finally got something worthwhile from an ad." I joked, making San smile.

"Do you want to try my food?" San asked.

"Sure." I said. He spun some noodles around his fork and cupped his hand under it to catch any droplets. He reached over and brought the fork to my mouth. I took a bite.

"Wow, that's really good too. I think I like the beef better, though." I said.

"Do you want to try?" I asked.

"Yeah. Beef sounds delicious." San said, smiling. I did as he did and spun noodles around my fork, bringing it to
his mouth. He ate the noodles off my fork.

"Wow, that is delicious. The beef is better than Miso." San agreed.

We finished eating, and the waiter took our dishes and left the check. San paid and left a tip.

San held the door open for me as we left. Back outside, San and I stood facing each other.

"Well, i t's getting late now.." I said.

"Yeah, it is." San said, nodding.

"I should go home." I said, stalling.

"Do you live close by?" He asked.

"Some what. It's a few blocks away from here." I said.

"I'll walk you home then." San said.
My heart fluttered when he said that, and I couldn't help but smile.

"Okay." I said. I started walking in the direction of my house, and San followed me.

We walked to my house in companionable silence.

I stopped in front of my house and turned to face San.

"Well, this is my house." I said, pointing it out.

"It's nice." San said, smiling.

"Thank you for tonight. I had a lot of fun, and that was the best food I've ever had." I said, smiling.

"I had fun too. We should hang out again." San smiled.

"Yeah, that sounds amazing." I said my mind, already racing with excitement.

"Well, have a good night, Y/N." San said softly.

"Good night, San." I said. San leaned down and kissed my cheek and then back.

My face caught fire, and I turned and walked up the stairs into the doorway. I turned back around and waved goodbye. San waved back. I went inside and closed the door behind me.

I walked over and peeked out of the window and saw San walking back the way we came. I pulled my phone out and called Izzy, who had left me tons of messages.

Izzy answered on the first ring, and before I could say anything besides, "Hey." She told me she was coming right over. 5 minutes later, the door swung open, and she rushed inside.

"Tell me EVERYTHING." Izzy said.
