In the quiet town of Hometown, where warm sunlight painted the streets, Kris attended the local school. A sense of restlessness gnawed at Kris's core, despite the love they received from their family and friends.
During a mundane class, the teacher's voice became distant background noise as Kris's mind wandered. A flicker of movement caught their eye, and they noticed Susie, their classmate, acting out. Susie's rebellious nature was well-known, and she often expressed her discontent in unconventional ways.
As Kris stared in Susie's direction, curiosity etched on their face, Susie's eyes met theirs. A sudden spark of annoyance ignited within her, and her expression turned fierce. Without warning, she charged toward Kris, her anger palpable.
Before Kris could react, Susie grabbed them by the collar, pinning them against a nearby locker. The classroom grew silent, and Kris, unable to speak, could only stare back at Susie, their eyes communicating a mixture of surprise and confusion.
Susie's grip tightened, and she huffed, "What are you looking at, weirdo? You got a problem?"
Kris continued to gaze at Susie, their silence provoking her further. "Don't just stare at me!" she snapped, frustration evident in her voice.
Despite the intensity of the encounter, Kris's calm demeanor seemed to unnerve Susie, creating a moment of tension that hung in the air.
The teacher's voice interrupted the standoff as they called for the class to resume, breaking the spell between Kris and Susie. Susie released her grip, giving Kris one last glare before storming back to her seat.
Throughout the rest of the class, Kris found themselves contemplating the strange encounter with Susie. As the bell rang, signaling the end of the day, Kris decided to explore the old supply closet rumored to be haunted, hoping the distraction would clear their mind.
As Kris opened the door to the dimly lit and dusty supply closet, they were startled to find Susie already inside. "Hey, what are you doing here?" Kris asked, surprised yet somehow not entirely shocked.
Susie grumbled, "I was looking for something. Doesn't concern you."
In the confined space of the supply closet, the tension from their earlier encounter lingered, but a new sense of curiosity prevailed. Kris and Susie exchanged glances, a silent understanding passing between them.
As they both searched through the dusty shelves, the floor beneath them rumbled and shook. The closet door slammed shut, and the darkness around them seemed to shift and twist.
"What's happening?" Susie exclaimed, her voice filled with unease.
Before either of them could comprehend the situation, the floor beneath them gave way, and they plummeted into an abyss of darkness.
