Halley had the route to Hawk's house memorized as she spent as much time there as he did in her house. When she stopped outside of his house she realized how much time had been since she was there the last time.

After their talk Halley offered to drive him home, he was gonna take an Uber but he would rather die than deny some more time with her. The ride wasn't uncomfortable, it was filled with soft music from Halley's playlist and small talk

"See you tomorrow at practice?" The brunette asked

"Sure" he smiled "Thanks for the ride" she nodded in response and he left the car. And the first thing he saw was his mother smiling at him

"Was that Halley's car?" she asked

"Yeah" he simply said walking straight to the stairs

"Did you guys finally make up?" After Halley stopped showing up and her son stopped mentioning her the woman knew something was wrong.

"Something like that" without further explanation he went upstairs and into his room.

Eli's mom knew it was just a matter of time before they found their way back to each other, she had been witness of their little moments when they were in the house, she had seen them looking at each other and talking to each other, it was not hard to tell they meant so much to the other.

"What have we gotten ourselves into?" Halley mumbled as the Miyagi-do's lead by Johnny were going up stairs, a whole lot of them

"Where..." Nathaniel took a second to catch his breath "is he taking us?"

"Nowhere good" Demetri seemed to be the most out of breath out of all of them "I heard he drowned a kid in a pool trying to teach him how to swim, and that was before he sicced a rabid dog on Eli. This does not bode well"

"Let's go Miyagis. Move your asses!" Johnny's scream was the one that got them moving again. There was a collective sigh before they continued their way up. And finally after what felt like forever they got to a rooftop, Johnny walked to the edge of it. Between the two buildings there was padding on the floor and they all already knew what he had brought them there for

"Oh, God. I'm tired of being right" Demetri sighed. They all gave a step back looking at the Sensei expectantly

"What are we doing here?" Sam asked

"When an eagle's hungry, it doesn't hesitate" he started with conviction in his voice "It'll dive down at 100 miles an hour to snatch its prey. Doesn't wait around for a fish to jump in it's feet"

"Talons" Demetri corrected

"It's not talons. It's instinct" Demetri refrained from saying anything else "An eagle knows it has to make the first move. If you want to beat Cobra Kai at the All Valley, you gotta break yourself on this wait-and-see crap" Halley actually liked the 'wait-and-see crap' because it allowed her to see how the other person was gonna fight, the first move was very important to determine the flow of the fight

"And how are you planning on teaching us that?" Halley frowned hoping he wasn't gonna say what she thought he was

"You're gonna jump from this roof" he pointed were there were standing "To that one" he pointed to the other building besides them

"What? Are you crazy?" Sam asked

"Absolutely freaking not" Halley said along her cousin

"That building is, like, five Nates away and we're at least 14 Nates high" Demetri pointed out alarmed

"Please don't use me as a system of measurement"

"Quiet!" Johnny screamed at them "If you wanna be an eagle you first gotta learn how to fly. You can't do that unless you jump"

"What if we fall?" One of the Miyagis asked

"That's what those mattresses are for" he said simply

"And what if we miss the mattresses?" Demetri asked

"Try not to" how that man hadn't killed anyone is still a wonder to Halley "Alright, who's first" all the teens looked at each other with similar expressions, agreeing that none of them wanted to "We're not leaving until someone jumps. Let's go, I'll wait"

"Then you'll be waiting a while" Halley said

"Yeah, we're not jumping" Sam continued. They all walked away and sat scattered around the roof

♢♢♢

"And you?" Johnny walked up to Halley that was sitting alone staring at the other building

"Me what?" She looked up at him

"Are you also following what 'uncle daniel' wants" he said mockingly

"No, I don't need anyone to tell me to not do things that could potentially end up with me dying" she frowned. Only looking at how high they were and thinking about jumping made Halley nauseous

"You're scared" he said when he saw the slight flicker in her expression

"I'm not" she was, but she was not about to let him know that "I just enjoy my bones too much to have them broken" also, she had just started feeling like her body and mind completely recovered from the school fight, her wounds took their sweet time to heal and even longer for her to recover mentally, so she wasn't looking forward to jeopardize her training so close to the tournament

"You are scared" he said again and it was starting to piss her off

"I'm not scared, I'm just cautious" she said already sounding done with him

"Same thing" he shrugged "Tell me how many times have you gotten your ass beat by the same person?" Halley thought about pushing him off the building to shut him up" Way too many "He didn't let her answer. It was technically only two times'' Why was that, huh?" something told her he wouldn't let her answer and she was right "Because you were scared. Because you were taught to fight safe and not harm others. You were scared because 'uncle Daniel' told you to wait for the opponent to attack first. You were scared and you got your ass beat, and then you got even more scared" Halley didn't know if she wanted to punch ot hug Johnny "And if you keep on being scared then you'll continue to get your ass kicked" god he was annoying "The only thing holding you back is fear. Stop being scared" after that he walked away knowing he had gotten to her

Halley decided he wanted to punch him, because he was right. She realized she was scared, not of Cobra Kai or of Angela, she was scared of herself, for so many reasons. She was scared of not being good enough, she was scared of disappointing the people she cared about, she was scared of getting hurt so bad she couldn't come back from it, she was scared of hurting someone else, she was scared of so many things it was overwhelming. After winning her last fight with Angela she convinced herself she wasn't scared anymore but she failed to remember how scared she was when she came face to face with Erick. She was simply scared

And Johnny was right, it was blocking her, and she would continue getting her ass kicked. She didn't know if jumping from a building was the way to fix that, but the Sensei seemed to be smarter than he let on

Hello, hello

The fact that even Eli's mom knows they're in love is just so funny. I really need them to be together right about now, but I feel like I need to let them be single for a while longer, just because I enjoy them dancing around their feelings so much.
