It's been a couple weeks since we last saw Maddy, Cassie and Nate after the whole incident in the office and what happened at the beach.

They haven't been at school or around town.

We haven't even spoken to Maddy. We text her occasionally but no response.

"Hey," Kat says as she sits next to me.

"Oh hey," I say scooting over.

"Have you heard from Maddy?" She asked me.

I shook my head no.

It was the last day before we went on break from school.

I was actually happy because a lot has happened.

"How about we go over h and house this afternoon?" I suggested.

"Can't," Kat says. "I have to go eat with Ethan's family."

"Fine," I say. "I guess I'll go by myself."

Lately, I've been lonely since the incident.

It's kind of like we all just fell apart and kept our distance.

Me and Kat haven't been seeing each other a lot except when we walk home together but Ethan tags along.

It was finally the end of the day and I walked over to Maddy's house.

Maddy's house was actually a long walk since she doesn't live in the same neighborhood as us anymore.

I finally arrived and her house was bigger.

I walked up the steps and knocked on the door.

Which felt like a while someone answered.

It was Maddy. She had on a hoodie and some sweats on.

She had no makeup on and she looked pale.

"Uh, I just stopped by here to see what your up to," I say.

"Thanks since your like the only one who does that," she scoffs. "Come in."

I walked inside Maddy's house.

I said hey to Mrs. Perez who said hey back.

I also greeted Mr. Perez but he said nothing because he was watching TV.

I followed Maddy into her room and shut the door behind me.

Maddy's room wasn't really a mess. She had a couple cups in her dresser, some clothes on the floor and the only thing that lit the room was the sunlight from outside and her small lamp.

"How have you been?" I asked her.

"Fucking terrible," she says and laid on her bed.

"So what did they say about the incident?" I asked.

"Well," Maddy says looking around the room. "I went to court and Nate's family and Cassie's family are pressing charges on me. Nate literally cornered me and hit me. Then I had to be suspended for two days and also I have a restraining order against me."

"Maddy-"

"Nate was my everything Alana!" She says with tears streaming down her cheeks.

"Nate was full of shit Maddy. Your fighting over a nigga who cheated on you. You want to drop everyone that loves you over this guy." I say.

"I'm gonna make him pay," she says and stands up.

"Maddy it's not worth it," I say trying to calm her down.

"Alana, I have to do what I have to do," she says.

That really scared me.

Maddy was going to do something stupid and I know it.
